Mother Nature Strikes Again!!

oh gezuz christ.... and in 4 hours, if you really wanted, I bet you could make 15 passes. It's not like you're spending 2 hours in the lanes waiting for your turn to race.
Might be out there, might not (for street legal). would be looking at 4 straight days off work...probalby won't try and swing that one.

I think I'll be in Sioux Falls. Yay for Thunder Valley!

So youre going to spend more money to do the same sort of thing, including a 200 mile drive or whatever it is from here to sioux falls.
Or you can go for a cheap 15 bucks and travel 5 miles.
Sounds like a no brainer.

Support those that support you. Sioux Falls puts on a great show and everyone is always supportive of what we do when we are down there.
Unlike you guys we actually need track prep to make it even worth the time and gas spent on beating the fuck out of our cars. Might as well go race the import day in Sioux Falls that Saturday, instead of dealing with the BS of trying to hook up @ interstate and then only racing for 3 hours if we're lucky.

Moving the date in such short period of time is really going to get people upset, i have been planning on the may 21st event for the past 2 months, now i don't know if i can make it up there in time after school.
People would be less upset if there were more than 4 events, because you wouldn't have to get so upset because there would be several more opportunities!
We are making the track money, more track days equals more profit

sounds like people are kinda fed up with this track? well when it is only open 4 times a year for street cars, i see where everyoen is coming from!
HOMER, y dont u step up and give us more track days?
edit what about a HELMET? is that absolutely needed?
people are saying that it isnt a big deal? so do i need it or not? -
Four street legal days a year isn't so bad. People can always race in the bracket series and run sportsman or trophy class as well.
BIR didn't even have the street legal drags until a couple years ago. You'd just have to take a Friday off from work and go run the Test & Tune if you wanted to make a bunch of passes. The bracket series was the thing to do there if you wanted to run your car. Saturday's you would get 3 time trial runs and then your elimination runs on Sunday for $35 in trophy class.
Also at BIR the street legal drags are on a Wednesday night starting at 5pm and ending whenever the sun goes down. That time really changes towards the end of the season... so you may only run for 3 hours or so. The cost there is $20. If you really wanted to beat the hell out of your car, you could still get in 15+ runs in those 3 hours though.
If you can't figure out your car in 4 or 5 runs you are either a really bad driver, the car is running like hell and shouldn't be at the track, or you better go back to work on your suspension and tires and make it hook up better.
There are a lot of people on this forum that need to quit the whining and enjoy the fact that they do have a track around here they can race at. There are plenty of other places you could be living that are a long ways away from any 1/4 dragstrip. -

my car is a street car not a race car/bracket car.
i want to go to the track for my own enjoyment and not to feel the pressure of trying to cut a good light to win a race, so i can move on to the next round.
where is BIR?Any car can be a bracket car in the trophy/sportsman class for the most part.
Cutting a good light is a huge part of drag racing. If you take off a half second behind the car you are racing, he has a big advantage. That's all cutting a good light is about. Going to the next round is not just determined by cutting a good light though... your car needs to run close to your dial in time (the time your car normally should run in the 1/4). I am sure you know most of that anyway Brian, but I figured I would throw that in there for anyone else reading.
BIR is about 2 1/2 hours east of here in Brainerd, Minnesota. Test and Tune's in Brainerd are fun to go to if you want to just run a bunch of times. They are always the Friday's before the bracket race and are 10am to 6pm. You can request to line up against particular cars if you want to race a buddy or something. -
yeah i know. i would rather pay for what i want to do and that is drag race the car. not bracket race it. every run i make, i want to be better then the last one. not trying to match it.
depending on the time schedule of BIR on wednesday's, i might try to make it out there. -

depending on the time schedule of BIR on wednesday's, i might try to make it out there. The street legals at BIR are: May 4th, May 25th, June 1st, June 29th, July 13th, Aug. 3rd , Aug. 24th, Sept. 7th, Sept. 21st, Oct. 8th
Like I said earlier, they start at 5pm. Usually I would get at the track around 4:30 or a bit earlier to get through tech inspection and start racing right at 5 sharp. They run until sundown. You will need a Snell 90 rated helmet or better to race at that track.

Nice homer quote!
What about us that have school, or work on Monday. An improvement, but still a bad idea.
