Racing on memorial day.....

So the best I was able to muster out of the GSX this weekend was a 15.1. Anytime I tried to launch hard the clutch would spin. So I had to launch at like 2500-3000 rpms. Consequently my BEST 60' of the day was a 2.27, and that was my 15.1@92. With a different clutch I should be able to easily shave off .5-1.0, but I don't think we'll ever know.

heh, well I guess 29.5x10.5 is small compared to what some people run.
I can't get anything bigger than a 28 under my wheel well. The track was sticky at first, but it deteriorated quite badly. You car would prob lift the wheels and hook on a gravel road. LOL I know my car would just spin, and Ethan said that he lost all hope of launching his bike well after a hour or two. What is your weight bias front/rear? I noticed that you had ladder bars on there, why not 4-link? (obviously the ladder bar works I guess). The odd thing is that my car had no traction issues other than right on the starting line. I saw that you got loose in the middle on the one pass, my car just drove down the track with no issues. I wasnt spraying so my 1/8 mile mph was only 103-105.

I had the small tires on it (29.5x10.5x15), actually thought the starting line was better Monday night than on Sat/Sun, since track temp was finally decent and there was less humidity in the air & I increased air pressure 1 lb to 8.5 lbs, since had too much wrinkle and was folding tires over when launching. The LC6 held up nicely and track actually has too much rubber on it right now & needs to be scrapped. Alot of sand/dirt was on track from cars parking in the dirt/mud than making runs, but that was the fun part for me, seeing if we could stay in the groove & drive through it, (First pass obviously I didn't and peddled it a couple of times to drive back into it) & the groove was tight and their wasn't much room for error.
**First **pass was a 10.21 @ 133.47, 2nd pass I didn't get a correct time but with Data Logger info and short times was a high nine leaving soft probobly at the same MPH. 3rd pass was decent up to 660' (9.78 @ 140mph) but car nosed over after that and we just missed the tune and are running too lean with the alcohol with 172 jets & I don't think the 4:88 gears are helping like we thought.
Didn't change suspension, just tire pressure, since only have ladder bar/coil over system and only changes to shock settings and spring rate that I can make will only help on rough tracks.
Hopefully we get it figured out since car is now slower than it was $7K ago & I am still slower than 2Wheeler

hmm. i have a boost controller set at 16 psi, headers and turbo back exhaust...maybe once he gets those, he'll be up there with me in the low low 13s.Yeah that's what he's waiting for......he was pretty frustrated 'cause he saw you running low 13's so he thought he should be right there. He's a good friend of mine, and since i've been through the all-wheel-drive woes, and figuring out the launches, i was trying to help him best i could.

Maybe try some weight reduction

or maybe he could put a 350z motor in it and run faster then the Z its self -

The fastest 3.5 NA 350z i have seen ran a 13.1
The fastest 3.5 NA Altima i have seen ran a mid 13 (unsure though)
The fastest 95-99 3.5 Swap NA Maxima runs a 13.3
The fastest 02-03 3.5 NA Maxima ran a 12.8Thers the proof. Most 350z's run low 14's and some high 13's

I don't get your point? "Most" Maxima's prob run 15's or 16's......

They saw a drop of oil on the ground coming out of the b/out box
Ford guys, you'd think with the amount of horsepower they build & as smart as they are, they would either:
- Have an engine that didn't blow the dipstick tube out
or
- Follow the rule book and have a positive lock oil & trans dipstick tube

Sorry Bill, Couldn't resist.........................
