Civic bumpers pratically fall off on their own...
reminds me of the 4 door honda out on 45th one night in a light rain. was sitting at cenex with a couple buddies when a civic on 18s (maybe larger), body kit, big wing, name it..... stopped a little short behind a dodge pickup. both vehicles jump and everything stops...then plop, the front bumper drops off. We laughed for 5 minutes while they talked quick, and threw the bumper into the back seat and took off.
okay, back to the regularly scheduled programming...

I was driving the VR6 GTi, traded that off. It was a 2001 with 174hp and the 12valve head and I still beat the SH with (unless I'm mistaken? Maybe..) 195hp. The new VR6's have a 24valve head and make 201hp. Anyways if the SH and my Vdub meet, let's go again. That was a fun race. No, must not have been you. The driver said his was a 200hp one. He one the first race, but lost pretty bad the second time around. He even insisted that vw rates their cars at the wheels. Ya, sure they do...
We beat a 12 valve one like yours with exhaust and intake by a good 3-4 cars at 80 the other night. When the cop went to pull us over that basturd kept on going and got away. Fudge should have left him behind.

It was him, it's ok, just accept it, and please, do us all a favor and stay in school.

school is for fools

Left to right (from the driver's perspective) it went white prelude, silver VW, black tiburon, it was on 13th avenue going west, right before or at the intersection before I-29. believe me, i was the VW guy.
I said it had 174hp at the wheels, about 200 at the crank. Assume somewhere in the neighborhood of 13-15% driveline loss and the crank number roughly equals 200. I dont doubt you beat a VR6 around 80mph, they're a much more powerful, torquey motor down low than in the high rpm's...was it a current body style (MK4) or older? I've seen a black lowered MK3 GTi VR6 running around with a dual-tip exhaust, was that the one?

This shits got to be the funniest thing I have read in a while... dude gravedigger you just dont give up do you? You were basically analy raped by all the honda owners on the boards and you still keep going.
Im not bragging or anything here dude but lets put my FORD FOCUS... thats right kids just like little jimmy said its a FORD not a fred or a ferd but a FORD Focus. Price I paid $17,500 brand spankin new with warranty and everything. Price for a used Jacson Racing Supercharger kit with exactly 1,000 miles on it $1500. Price for a 2.4 pulley to raise boost from 5psi to 8.5psi $265, price for MBRP Cat-Back exhaust $240 and Focus Central Off Road Pipe ( down pipe to eliminate cat ) $200, Price for a Steeda short ram intake $165, price for a Diablo Predator tuner for the SVT with 4 tunes already installed $500.
Grand Total $20,370 now this isnt exact but when all is said and done it will be around $21,000 about the price of your car out the door. Those above mentioned mods will give me close to 270whp and 250wtq with the diablo predator tuning my car. That will factor down to low 13's in the 1/4 on street tires and stock 17" rims stock suspension and stock clutch and flywheel. Now dish out another $1700 for slicks and steelies, new clutch, new flywheel, bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, and send the diablo back to have the new tune added for new parts. That factors down to really low 13's to high 12's trapping at close to 120mph. From a dig the car is slow due to its very long 1st gear. Also I could spend another $1000 and get a quaife LSD ( limited slip differential for you gravedigger cause im sure you dont know about LSD cause your car will never see one ) And ill pull high 12's all day and night. Also with those mods I really doubt there would be many cars that would pull on me from a 40drop. And I could probably see 165+mph I love my Getrag!
Peace!
RobP.S. Sell your P.O.S. Korean car... only reason hyundai is still around is because they bought kia to dig themselves out of a large hole. Kia fucking blows worse then lego cars but their cheap and people will buy anything thats cheap.

Dont get too excited about that getrag tranny....

Hmm, ok in your very first post you said it was a 12 valver 174 hp, now you're changing your story and say it's at the wheels. What gives?
Were you Modded or something? The one we raced looked brand new, It had newest rims I think. No it was a white one, probibly 98 and didn't seem too pristine.
A 24 valve one is within 100 LBs of the prelude and would be a very close race. Why'd you get rid of it and what do you drive now?

what I said at the race was "VW rates it at 174hp at the weels, somewhere around 200at the crank." How am I changing my story? The 12v VR6 in 2001 and older cars makes 174hp, the new VR's (2002 and up) have a 24valve head and make 200hp at the wheels. I drove the older variety.

I dunno if high 12's is trapping at 120 mph

I do think though that Rob's focus is one of the most under rated N/A FWD cars out there. Period. I hate Ford, I hate everything about them to be quite honest but the first time I drove his SVT I was SERIOUSLY impressed. The interior is sharp, very thoughful and well done. Backseat is comfortable. The car screams practicality and is very peppy in the upper rpm range for stock. Fun car to drive whether your racing or daily driving. If that car had 250 whp in all honesty, to me at least, 20 g's would be well worth it.
