trust me, no bank will give you a loan for 7500 for a 95 civic, unless you secure the loan with something else worth more that you own (ie house, spouse's car, etc)

KBB and NADA are book prices. Dealer prices dont apply to you as a private party seller. We can look up dealer trade in value, i'd be suprised to see over $2500.

are you on crack?...i just sold my 98 accord for 9200..i highly doubt your civic is worth even half of that

NADA is what insurance companies use to value your car... now think about it. Why would they want to value your car MORE? They dont! Its not going to "book" for that. Oh, and NO bank in the right mind will give you that.

Ok well whatever, LETS just say that the book says whatever astronomical number you posted now, there is still the factor of somebody paying THAT much money for a car. You could buy a VERY nice 2Gb DSM for that amount of cash.

                    Good luck.

ummm I am a quote unquote dealer at Inter City Auto and NADA is the quote unquote AUTHORITY on used and new car prices. That is why it has specific books for country regions, trade in value, loan value, retail value, every vehicle option available, and vehicle specific milage deduction charts. This is also the reason they are updated monthly=to cover depreciation.

..but your probably right, they just print books for shits and giggles all the while laughing at people/businesses who consult them.

If you were to go to a dealer(not unlike my father) and you told him you wanted 6k for it, he would look up your vehicle and even low ball the loan value so good luck. Private party selling is your best bet to recoup expenses though.

Ill give ya 2200 for it by the way.

EXACCORD is correct, private party value in good condition is $3665.

Trade in value in good condition is $2345

Premier auto would sell it for 7500, i asked him seein how i also work for him. they would give me 4000 on trade in. they looked over the vehicle and the interior is in perfect condition, the body has a fey scratches and minor dents. I would trade it in but they dont have the car i want(240SX). plus i know if it is in the paper for 6 it will sell that day.

How is a dealership going to sell a used vehicle that is nothing special for multiple thousands of $$ over what its worth? If you say you can sell it same day for $6000 i'd be all over that. Shit i'd be all over trading it in for $4000 because trade in value is $2300. A civic coupe is not a hard find, they are a dime a dozen. If you had a hatch, CRX or something ofthat nature then maybe i could see this deadl, but not for a coupe.

Premier auto has lots of nice import cars with high mileage that they sell for too much already but I doubt they would even go $6000 on your civic. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with your car but nobody with common sense would pay $6000 for that car.

Ok. List it in the paper. I HIGHLY doubt it would sell that day. In fact, I will bet you $1! it wont.
