Wireless phone providers

Go to the various providers, they will provide you with loaner phones to see how the reception is.
Your best bet is still going to be Verizon...
Unicel's CDMA services uses Verizon's towers
Unicel's GSM service = T-Mobile / Cingular / GSM Towers
Sprint = CDMA towers, many are shared
I guess the only option you'd really have is to go test a Sprint phone out and see if it works out for you... Sprint and Verizon have the best in the area.
GSM and iDen (nextel) suck here

i honestly have no complaints about verizon except for maybe their customer service which i havent had to use very often...i almost always have service cause their coverage is top notch but their phones leave a little to be desired until you get the top end of their phones...thats my .02

I'm going to check into Sprint. My cousin works there and I might even be able to get a deal too. See the thing with Verizon is, IF I keep it, I HAVE to buy a new phone, because this one is fucking garbage. It's a huge inconvenience for me to talk on it at home, because it drops calls all the time. Hell, I was on the phone earlier with the phone insurance place I got the phone from, and it fucking dropped that call too.

you can get new phones for free

Just herd the news....Alltell bought cell one, meaning that is the largest covered company in the states. Dont mistake that with the largest customer base...but they will get up there now that they have the largest coverage. I have been with them for 3 years...before them I was with 3 or 4 other companies, and cellone in this area is by far the best. Allthough for some reason I think it matters which cellone store you go to. I can get you an awesome deal on a kick ass phone if you want...let me know, I'll tell you where to go and let them know your coming in.

I'm in the market to switch cell phone providers since I have really bad luck with Verizon where I live. I do not want to go to Cell One because I had their service before and it sucked. So I'm looking for something else. What do people use here and what's good/bad and what's a good deal?I have the ultimate plan for you. Keep your curent phone until Simplex buys you a cell phone. Its Cell One, but its free

ive had sprint for about 3 years now and i like it. my plan is a little on the spendy side (for me anyway... 45 bucks for 600 anytime and 3200 night/weekends), but i havent had any problem with poor reception or dropped calls. plus not roaming down in the cities is pretty sweet too.

The problem with every wireless provider is you compromise something, be it price, contract, coverage, who you can call for free...what ever. I don't have a cell phone simply because I hate all the bullshit that comes along with them from the provider. Verizon would be my choice because just about everyone I know is on it but I won't sign a contract for a cell phone plan.
On a mostly unrelated note, I love our Vonage service.
