We're not that cocky... Looking at 600+ AWHP, and another show piece to show other aspects of what we do. It also is due that something comes outta here and gets some national recognition as well as a write up in a magazine. Spend $35k on a car, and $60k on modifications should be able to make that dream a reality... As I started this post, we aren't gonna get cocky about it...........................yet.

Our .02 is if we are gonna go for 700-800, why no go for 1000hp!??! There has to be a limit, and with 600+ we have already watched a STi hit 9's... Not that 9's is a goal, but if 600+ can potentially get 9's, we think that is sufficient....
If you saw a STi run a 9.xx or even 10.xx at the drag strip you wouldn't call that 'going all out'?!?

Really?!?! What would be the restrictions? One run? Fastest run of the year? Want to make it more fun and maybe do $1k buy in?
One restriction would obviously be, it HAS to be a shop car.... not a shop buddy's car.... otherwise it isn't a 'shop shoot out'

Ok, I have something to add, being that I am sure this will be my money that will be put up. Our car is going to be a complete package. So being that this is not just a track queen the stipulation will have to be that, based on a points system, a variety of events would be run. Maybe like DRIVE the car to Rock falls.... make some runs. points applied to times. ANd getting there without breaking. Then the next week enter one of the area's autocross events. Points based on PAX times..... Then end up with a Car show and let the judges know about it so we can get their individual point scores. If I was investing all this money in this project I am sure the car would end up being faster than it will be. I wouldn't have spent so much money on things that have nothing to do with speed.
Not to be picky about it but this is what we are after with a "well rounded" car. Not the fastest car.
This is one thing we don't want to the mind set. WE ARE NOT TRYING TO BUILD THE WORLDS FASTEST STI. We will leave that to the Aussies and the boys from Big Valley.

Well you CAN autocross anything..... But I know for a fact that an Sti with 600hp will autocross better than a 500Hp Drag car. Of course there are exceptions to every rule. And before you flame.... I am not spouting this as law. No need to get panties in a bunch. But that's what the PAX times are for. Keeps it fair for the driver to have no advantage with the car. It will show who the better driver is. I do not need this car to be the fastest in the 1/4.... Nor does it need to win at national autoX events..... This is a show piece for our shop. That's it. for all I know it won't even run. But if it does.. Cool. As for the turbo size and or the displacment... these things are confidential at this time.

I Auto X'd my lil bros 485hp talon and it did fine... fun as hell.
I just dont think the automatic tranny will do fine this year. I plan on ditchin the 5 speed stuff and going auto w/ hi-stall for drag racing.. 10's easy With going to an auto I will have more time racing and less time fixing.. Fingers crossed..

Yeah the auto's are seeming to prive themselves worthy now since IPT came out w/ a good trq converter and shift kit for them. Guys have been running 10's on a stock auto trans w/ the converter and shift kit from IPT. Only thing that sucks now is Nopi changed their rules for this upcoming year and now banned auto trans, GM trans, and methanol for all classes except pro and outlaw.
