I have not driven a V8, but I have ridden in a friends GTP at full whack. That is nothing like a V8 sports car. For one its FWD, and two, its a V6 and doesn't have the same feel as an 8. Don't knock it till you try it.
BTW, GTPs are weaksauce. I walked a GTP in my slowstang.

I was making a reference to pushrod engines at high end, that was all, I was not trying to knock on V8 sports cars. Not saying that a GTP can account for all pushrod engines, which it can't, but rather that they share an inherent inferiority to OHC engines in the high end.

GTPs are really hit and miss, depending on how well they were taken care of since new. Some are as slow as mid 15's and some as fast as mid 14's stock...which really isn't horrible for a FWD Auto V6 car weighing 3800lbs or so....

People will always stand by what they drive and argue until eternity on the subject. I'm merely stating these things as my opinion and nothing more. Everyone has the right to enjoy their car no matter what it has for an engine. (Although we all know I6s are the best anyway :icon_thumright:)Done and done. Well stated.

It really depends on the car. Most stock SN95 5.0 with a 5spd will run high 14s and an auto will be low 15s. I ran a 14.375 stock, so I have a factory freak.

a mustang isn't really considered a sports car IMO, just a redneck ferrari!what is up with you these days? You seem so damn angry..........I think you have ripped on everybody you have talked in the last couple of days.
Mister CMK- No arguments here. Both cars have poetential.......it is just the fact that not many mustangs on the road in the FM area do anything about it and are usually stock.

His is an oddball though... typically they are not low 14 second cars. He hasn't been able to duplicate those times since though... maybe the timing equipment was faulty that day.

Fawk that, it was so fucking hot and humid last track day.

It says NASCAR! Not muscle car.If that is the case then many of the so called "muscle cars" from back then I guess should be renamed "nascar cars". Many car companies back then to be legal in the races had to release streetable versions of the cars. That is where many of the "muscle cars" came from.
If Boss cars don't work for you... then perhaps 428 CJ Mach 1 or 390 FE Fastback would do the trick.
