Good p2p Program

is torrent bad for like viruses and slowing down your computer? thats how i ruined my last computer and i would rather not do it to my new laptop

haha bittorrent isn't responsible for that... its what you download with the program that maybe at fault..

thats like saying "internet explorer gives me viruses" when in all reality its what websites / security settings etc you have

Does anyone have an explanation of torrents? I don't understand em and whenever I end up downloading one I delete it because I don't know how to work it

you download a torrent, and then use a torrent program such as bittorrent or utorrent. that program does the actuall downloading of the program or whatever your downloading.

Once it finishes downloading, there ya go. you have what you wanted.

soulseek is great for full albums. its a lot easier than using torrents too.

everytime i try for a full alblum it is always run together. you have to separate the tracks yourself and that makes me unhappy

Just look to see if its one file or multiple...

do, sometimes its my fault cause the "multiple" files are only alblum covers and what not

In the last 2-3 weeks alone, I've already obtained 49 complete albums. All with seperate files per song and album cover. I don't see how hard it is for you. This is on bittorrent tho so if your using somethin else then idk.

Damnit I hate not being able to have P2P, my schools server blocks it and I guess if you're caught with it they can take away your internet access

use your phone as internet access if you have verizon or sprint... you will be able to download WAY faster... and the school cannot mediate it.

if your using the EVDO service without subscribing to it w/ verizon, you will be charged by the KB. It gets expensive very quickly.

in a 1xRTT area your looking at 56k speeds...

what he said ^^ ^ Fargo is still 1x as of 10:36am today. The best advice is to just not use p2p or torrents on campus. Educational institutions take it pretty seriously as they are responsible for the traffic on their network.

oh and even torrents are for n00bs. Usenet is where its at. You can download the entire album in a fraction of the time it takes to pull it in as a torrent AND you get the album covers and everything as well.

Yea there was a funny story that happened a couple years back. Two roommates both had some p2p downloading system. The one downloaded mostly music and the other downloaded almost all porn. Only the one that was downloading music got in trouble for it though.

Its kinda funny but it makes sense, cuz most porn isn't copyrighted right?

Oh yea and all I can use is iTunes.

its not p2p but i use allofmp3.com. its like 1.60 for an album but you can choose what bitrate you want and everything is all tagged correctly so its pretty nice. just an idea.
