I picked up the same phone and I do like it too. One comment about the "Cons" is that it is .wma support only, but the nice thing is when you synch from Windows Media player to the phone it will convert the MP3's to WMA for the phone - no extra step on your part....
The biggest pain in the ass is that the phone doesn't seem to understand that when you're in the middle of a call, and for instance the voicemail system on the other end requests you to push 1 to continue, the Chocolate thinks you want to speed dial option #1 (vm). AND, because the "connect" or "dial" button is heat sensitive on these phones, if your cheek touches it, it will hang up your call and dial vm (or whatever speed dial number you pushed to interact with the caller\system on the other end of the line). Absolutely ridiculous!!
Other than that, its a nice phone. This could easily replace an iPod - you can play music by genre, artist, playlists, albums, etc. Plus, the phone has bluetooth - I've listened to (and ordered) the Motorola HT820 headphones and the sound is amazing!

good review joel. I thought about the chocolate but i went with the kryzr. the chocolate looked like it would be to akward to hold and bulky and the touch screen thing bugged me. glad you like it tho

I was going to buy the GSM version of the Chocolate, but I thought the phone was goofy after playing with it at the Verizon store. So decided to go with the Samsung SGH-D900. For the same price, I got a 3 megapixel camera versus 1.3.

Well i bought the Chocolate to the first week it came out. I really liked the phone up until now. In the beginning it was the shit but now im not so sure. After having it for a few months i have noticed that the battery is horrible even though i have charged it every night since i have had it. Also i have noticed that it freezes and then shuts off when you click something to quickly. All together its not a bad phone but could use a little fine tuning. I wouldnt be surprised if they came out with white chocolate or something as a newer version.

Right, I understand that fact fully. I think a fair compromise would be it would work for some or maybe even most normal mp3 listeners. People who own a 40 or 60gb one would argue me to the death about it being a replacement, but honestly against that much, yeah it's not a replacement. However, there are numerous people that have Nanos or no Ipod at all, so this would be a great replacement. I do completely understand your point as well.
I would love a 40 or 60gb Ipod, and my music collection would probably grow because of it, but the truth of the matter is, if I wanted an Ipod, but also needed a new phone, I would completely bypass the Ipod to get the phone that can effectively do both.

there is a white chocolate and a pink chocolate coming out on cdma for verizon according to howardforums, but not any time too soon. I am gonna buy the biggest extended life battery i can find here pretty soon. yesterday i didn't even use it that much, and the battery sucked down to 2 bars (which on phones from my experience means its 1/4-1/3 left, pretty shitty...
