Not only that, but who supports fuel management for Honda automatics (besides piggy back shit)? There were very few options for me a year ago when I was going to stay auto. You would easily max out that tranny long before you would reach the limits of power on a piggyback system or even just a FMU.

Im confused and i dont understang why everyone is hell bent on giving mel such a hard time for wanting to build a turbo automatic. Yeah i agree that a manual will hold up to the abuse better but isnt that what this site is about.....discussing mods with everyone and being different as an individual? Granted i dont know mel very well but i applaud anyone for traveling the road less traveled. I just thought i would drop my 2 cents.

This is pretty simple...- Honda auto trannies are not like other companies auto trannies. They are ALL junk! They aren't like GM auto trannies or any other strong auto trannies.
- The transmissions produced by Honda are junk.
- People kept telling me not to put power to my auto Honda. I didn't listen. I broke my tranny in one season. I regretted not listening to these people. I'm simply trying to help her from making the same $$$$$$$$ mistake I did.
- There is nothing wrong with boosting an auto tranny car....as long as the car doesn't have a Honda tranny.

Thanks for clearing the air for me hando. Some people are not satisfied with their decisions until they make it.......even if it is a bad one. Atleast you told her the down side for her decision, and thats from personal experience. I dont know imports very well but what are the options for a beefy auto for her. You said aslong as it dosent have a honda tranny. Mel if you read this and still want to stick with an auto for your project then beware of the downsides. These guys are just tryin to save you the trouble of rebuilding tranny after tranny.

You must have beat the shit out of it...I guess it depends on the year too...but otherwise those trannys are strong as hell stock.

The AODE/4R70W in stock form can typically handle about 25 to 50 horsepower above stock power levels. Installation of the Valve Body kit will allow 1997 and earlier AODE/4R70W transmissions to perform reliably in a 350 to 375 horspower application. 1998 and later 4R70Ws can handle up to 500 horsepower with just the addition of the Valve Body kit
