De-tuning your car to "handle" better in technical situations only means that you can't handle drifting. You need practice

I vote we don't get into a arguement on how to drift, cause 95% of the people on here have no idea what they are talking about nor have they ever tried it. Icy and snowy roads does not mean shit. The day I see someone from this forum actually go to a event and get passed the "newbie " stage and allowed to get on the track, I will be impressed. There is only a handfull of people on this forum that would ever even attempt to attend an event.

            PM me for:

Drifting in town is dumber than drag racing in town...fuck hitting a curb, I only hope you don't hit someone else.

For the "technical" aspect of it you need to do more than just slide a corner and then fish-tail for a bit afterwards....show me a video of you actually linking a few drifts together (hey I can't do it either, but I've never claimed to be a drifter) Something tells me you are mostly an e-brake/momentum drifter and that you probably don't use very many clutch techniques and/or heel/toe pedal work to engage/sustain/control a drift. If you did you would probably realize that having power is a good thing that can get you INTO and OUT OF a slide. One of the things that most people don't realize is that STICKY tires are essential to having a good drift car to help work with the power and prevent spinouts.

I'm in the minority on FS in that I like drifting and see it as a very technical form of motorsports. For those that are saying its not racing, you are right in that you don't have to lead to win, but IF you can out-drift someone AND pass them mid-maneuver, you will probably win the showdown.

Either way, you are still an idiot for streetracing/drifting...especially within city limits.

Ooh, ooh, I've been to a couple, but did not compete. That and I think I do understand the physics/mentality that goes into drifting. If I owned a FR turbo car, I would actively participate in drift events, but since I don't own a "proper" setup for drifting, I watch but don't participate.

haha...are you serious? did you watch the last video i posted? i actually RARELY use the e-brake...actually until yesterday my e-brake didnt work, i have video's of me lately...but honestly i cannot find my goddam cable to connect it to my computer(just moved)...i am a "seasoned" drifter and i know what i am doing, i have linked some crazy shit together

as for in town drifting, i keep it stricly to the industrial and 12 or later so noone is around...when i hit that curb it was like 2am in the middle of nowhere..only reason someone took pics is because the guy that was with me had a camera with him...o well shit happens...look at leeyo in MN...went to nevada to try out for forumula d..was messing around that night and totalled his car out fucking around...if you drift...you do it on the street, unless your a ricer and do cookies in the parking lot

who is leeyo? If you mean leegro, he didn't crash on the street, it was on the track.

Tjamz not bashing you, I know you actually know some stuff about it. I like to watch it and all that. I may try to go to an event this year, but who knows. Grip/drag racing is more my thing.

The thing I hate about it is that so many people are just idiots who think drifting is the easiest thing to do, when it is extremely difficult.

I saw pics of them taking his car off the track with a fork lift with him strapped in. Remember there were like 100 cars competing in like 3 days, they ran late into the night.

To be honest, I didn't watch all of the videos, just the first one. So my take on you was based on your holier-than-thou attitude. You admittedly have tons more experience than me in regards to drifting...but that wasn't what you were originally running your mouth about on here.

I still disagree on your opinion that detuning will help you drift better. I WILL agree that you CAN have too much HP when drifting, but a SR20DET running at OEM power spec is NOT too much power to drift with.

alright...as for drifting experince...honestly i would say 10 hours a week...and thats when its dryer out...like seriously its a BAD habit because i'm up from 12-2am just out sliding around when its dry out, right now i'm using a factory ka24de w/ just susp. mods and i'm getting extremly use to the car...but friday there will be a sr20 in it, so we'll see

as for sr20 power, 330ish is a bit more than oem, i'll be running ether the s15 turbo with supporting mods(s13 engine, i had a s14 sr and they suck in compairison) or the gt2871...but thats up in the air right now, my tranny is acting up so i'm throwing the ka out....but that will be alot for the area's i slide around in right now....actually earlier i made a video of me going under a tunnel...it was fuckin sick and i'll hopefully buy a new cable tomarrow to post shit up for you all

So, bottom line is that both drifting and sddrift are gayer than a bag of dicks

I vote we don't get into a arguement on how to drift, cause 95% of the people on here have no idea what they are talking about nor have they ever tried it. Icy and snowy roads does not mean shit. The day I see someone from this forum actually go to a event and get passed the "newbie " stage and allowed to get on the track, I will be impressed. There is only a handfull of people on this forum that would ever even attempt to attend an event.

I hope to enter a few ice races next winter....do those mean shit?? :icon_sunny:
