The engine and tranny are both fully assembled (rebuilt) but the engine needs new valve covers, they got bent when heads from another engine were accidentally set on them. I'd like to get $800 for the tranny and $2000 for the engine. I was told they were worth at least that with all the parts and labor in them. Otherwise make an offer and I'd be glad to consider it.
Ok, here is a page I found, make it a little easier. I stand corrected, there were B17's, D16's, along with a few ZC's found in Japan, but most found here since the early 90's are B18's.

if you remove the head leave the intake and exhaust manifold on...have someone help you..will be heavy as hell but thats the best way to remove the head
A new LS1 longblock can be acquired fairly economically. I think I saw a GM dealership selling LS6 crate engines for about $5,000. If you wanted a cheaper one, you could get one from a wrecked F-body. Check out ls1.com and ls1tech.com to see if there are any sales. I'd get the Painless wiring kit, too.
SCP is a complete joke they offered to sponsor my car and as i learned more about them their "sponsored car" prices are like 15 dollars less then say tintmasters and that is not even shipped, and SCP wants to call the shop you are getting the items installed at and they wanna talk to the owner of the shop and see if they will lower hourly rates just for you, also they say they big name products, but they are all imitations, a buddy of mine wanted the bomex for his civic because they advertise they carry bomex, well they carry the VIS imitation of the bomex kit they say bomex is a little out of their league so they really can only get a bunch of crappy items also they can drop you at anytime they want to without a good legit reason and all the discounts you got get charged to the card in which you must give a number of. all in all it is a big joke.
