Explain how you do this? I don't have an XP installation disk anymore.
And the reason for just cleaning it up is to leave some of the programs on there, I.E., Microsoft Office.. If I reformatted, I would basically lose this. Previous system recoveries have had me lose programs such as Nero. The files were there, but the product key needed to be re-entered and it was something that I didn't have.
Also, if I were to do a system recovery, a lot of the hard files would still be there (program files, etc.) They would just not work since they would be lacking drivers, etc. Since the last time I did a system recovery due to (a huge glitch/virus) I had numerous programs I had to reinstall.. Those that needed keys were useless to me...
