Yeah, not too worried about the road flair 🙂

    As far as pics:

    Intake

    Socks

    Shift Knob

Details: broken into the evening of saturday, April 18th (I know, the trails real cold by now) in the Fargo First Assembly parking lot (3401 25th St SW).

We've got the car running better than before now. New chipped p75 ECU (what a difference!) and a simple 3" intake w/ cone filter. I'm not super concerned about getting everything back - I just want to know who did it

Our autocross car (blue Civic EG hatch) was broken into a few weeks ago (passenger window smashed) and some expensive/weird parts were stolen. If you see any of the following floating around shoot me a message:

Password JDM Carbon Fiber whale phallus intake
Duracon Black Spoon Shift knob (genuine)
    Password JDM Brake Resevoir socks
    P74/75 ECU 92-95 OBD-1 Integra LS/GS
    JDM Road flair 🙂

Thanks for any info you might have.

It's an Non-Manufacturer's warranty (whatever you call it). I can get the work done at any "licensed shop", and so depending on the shop it shouldn't be a problem. They just have to make sure the verbage is what the warranty company is looking for.

Nice ride, is that Lightning Red? or whatever they used to call their red.

It's called Sedona Red Pearl. I think it's a great color. Pretty much a candy-apple red. In direct sunlight it is very red. In the shade it is a deep, rich red. And at night the metallic makes it look almost burnt orange.

Mods - not much. Picked it up 1 week ago.

    Prodrive springs
    Rota Boost 17's
Falken Azenis RT-615 - 225/45 (gotta roll the rear lip to fit these babies)
    Sti Titanium Shift knob

My immediate modding plans include Cobb Stage 1 and some beafier sway bars. Next summer I'll take it up to stage 2 and do some adjustable shocks. Don't want to go too crazy as I have a 3 year warranty.

It's finally here! I went to take some pictures, but all the HDR I shot turned out with too much noise. These are the only shots even worth posting. More to come when I figure out what's going on with my camera.

    • note to self - too much saturation causes noise.

  • Suspension Q: is this normal?

Right on. How you liking the new drop for handling?

I was surprised. Just the springs made a bigger difference in handling than I expected. There is considerably less body roll and the handling seems fairly neutral. I was expecting to need some adjustable shocks before it started really handling well, but the way it feels now I might get more mileage out of some beefy sway bars first. I'm rolling on Falken Azenis 225's and the only way I'd feel safe exploring the limits of this setup is on a track, so we'll see after I get it out to brainerd or auto-x.

And for looks, these springs are dead on. Fender gap is perfectly even. Not slammed - just right. Looks like it should have from the factory.

They have plenty of travel left. They lowered the car 1" in the back and 1.5" in the front.

It has mellowed out considerably since the first day I drove it. I was wondering if anybody else had suspension that broke in after awhile? There were also alot of creaks and squeaks when I first drove the car, which are almost entirely gone now. Probably just the car settling in.

I just got my 02 WRX wagon. First thing I did was install the wheels and Prodrive Springs I had already ordered. This is the first suspension work I've done. After installing the springs I found the ride to be ridiculously stiff. Like riding in an ox-cart. It's gotten a little better after 2 days of driving.

My question: is this normal? Do springs usually take a few days to break in and mellow out? The Prodrive's are supposed to be a very mild spring. Only lowering the car 1" - 1.5" and designed specifically to work with OEM struts/shocks. I hope I didn't screw anything up.

On another note, I'll hopefully take some pics tonight, cause it looks sweet!:icon_compress:

  • Fender rolling

I have an 02 wrx wagon and the rear fenders are known to be narrower than the other WRX models. In order to fit a 225 tire properly I need to roll the rear fenders. I'm not trying to pull my fenders out, just roll back the little lip on the inside of the fender. I've seen it done with a baseball bat, but I'd like to "go pro" if possible. It's got fresh paint🆒

What shops in Fargo can roll fenders and what do you think they charge?

    OR

Better yet, where can I rent a roller and do it myself :icon_thumleft:

    Thanks guys.

I PMed RexWagon, but it won't even let me post a reply in the classifieds. I understand noobs shouldn't start classified threads, but I don't see there being a problem with replies.

Yeah I got the hatch from kyle. Nice guy and a clean hatch for a good price. It won't take too much work to "finish" it :icon_thumleft:

If you guys have any "insider" resources on where you find your cars let me know. It's nice to deal local, but I'm willing to drive cross country if the price is right. Any auto markets that are consistently under book?

    Thanks.

The car is a EG hatch w/ an LS swap. It's got the normal bolt on's (intake, exhaust, headers) and chassis goods (shocks, springs, tie-bars). It just needs a vtec head-swap to be complete. Oh, and some nice wheels...and maybe some brake upgrades 🙂

It is a project car for my brother and I. We gutted the back only to find it covered with sound-deadening tar from a previous owner. We've spent hours killing our brain cells scrubbing it out with xylol/xylene. It's starting to look respectable, but we may still have to paint it for that spanky-fresh look. It's blue (pretty decent shape for it's age) so holla if you see it.

We hope to have a go at some auto-x this summer.

Oh.... and while I'm still making a noob of myself:

I'm in the market for a WRX Wagon. I know they are slim around here, so if you know anyplace that I should look (other regional forum classifieds, websites, etc) I would love to hear about it. I'm lookin' for a 02-04 and can't spend any more than $14K.

If this is totally inapropriate (whould go in the WTB marketplace) let me know. I don't wanna get banned my first day.

Hey, thought I'd say hi. I met bryce in a parking lot a few weeks ago (noticed my eg hatch) and he told me about this place. I've been creepin' around for a while now and thought I should say hi.

I'll have to come out to some of the meets whenever you have the next one. I'll get some pics of the car one of these days.

    Thanks!
