Relocating the battery seems like the best method of wiring this system because the current battery barely fits under the hood, so the wires are hard to reach. I have a 0 gauge wire that isn't being used for anything, so I might as well just install two batteries back there, and wire them in parallel. Less fuss, less mess, more cranking amperage.

Sounds like you need to look into the glowplugs and cold start aids on the vehicle before adding a battery.

4,500lbs will add up pretty quick in any type of travel trailer. You should be looking for 3,500lb dry weight trailers.
