I was wondering the same things as KA-T_240. At 17 years old you cannot legally be on the business license. However I do know that you can be the primary holder on a title at 17 in ND, with parental consent. I'm still curious how you own a business if you can't be legally responsible for said business.

Response to Feb1, 1045 am threadif you make enough money doing your job to buy a car like that, surely you won't ignore the posts which simply ask what you do for a living. For some reason you have avoided those questions, and keep going on with the same things you've been saying since you started here.

Response to Feb1, 1045 am threadI honestly don't care how hard scooter worked to get his car. its a matter of simple math. Lets just pretend that you can somehow manage to get a full time job while still going to high school. its hard, but it can be done, because I did it. now lets say your making 10 bucks an hour, which is on the high side for a high school job. that works out to 1600 a month, BEFORE taxes. oh thats right, as a immigrant you don't pay taxes for what is it? 7 years? regardless, just with the number 1600 a month, and the cars your talking about like the 04 duramax, that would sell for roughly 25 grand used, if you can find a good deal. if you spent the entire 1600 bucks on it per month, it would take you 15 months to earn enough to buy it. Considering you have to have a work permit if you are under the age of 15 in the state of ND, I say that would put someone a shy bit out of range for that caliber of vehicle in a high school job situation.
Maybe I should talk to the wall here, but those numbers sure don't add up to me......

Response to Feb1, 1045 am threadI'm not trying to start something here, but how dumb do you think we all are? I seriously doubt that a high school kid can afford the kind of car you are driving. As said above, the insurance premiums would be outrageous. Now if you want to prove me wrong, its easy to do. Go get the title, put a peice of paper over the address if you want, all we need to see is the name, then take a picture of the title which does NOT have a lein on it. Until you have that peice of paper in your name without a lein on it, you don't own anything. Do that and maybe I'll beleive you. The thing is no high school kid has a job that pays enough to buy that car.

Response to Feb1, 1045 am threadI'm amazed at how hard it is to comprehend that a good majority of the people on here not only DONT drive honda's, they also happen to OWN their cars. I have seen most of the cars on here at some point out at the dragstrip, and while they aren't the fastest in the world, I bet they would beat a stock vw.
as far as the 420 HP thing, Give me a list of mods and a dyno sheet. I'm sure a bunch of us on here would be real surprised if you come up with one.
BTW, despite what they might say on your other ricer message boards, the patented "ass dyno" does not count for a actual dyno. we need a real print out.

94_dsm_nt....give me my fucking cari beleive tapout is right, maybe you should look into small claims court? I'm guessing it was well under a 5k purchase price, but I've been wrong before. Good luck getting your car.

traffic this morningi thought i saw an suv with the rear end caved WAAAY in.
what sucks is that there was an accident, but it was behind where 94 merges onto 29, yet traffic was backed up because everyone had to slow way down and gawk. dumbasses. hope nobody was hurt too bad in that wreck -
October 13th Street Legaldrag radials chew up the track pretty bad actually. You wouldnt think so but I've definately seen it after the cars with them launch.

Rebuilt 351 WindsorI have a rebuilt 351 Windsor for sale, was going to use it in my 94 bronco but since its a 79 engine, the balancers are different and would not let me use my factory pulleys. So I'm just going to go ahead and sell it. I'm asking $1000 OBO
It is a 1979 ford block, originally rebuilt by AC Delco, i took it apart, measured and checked all the tolerances and reassembled it. This is a LONG BLOCK ONLY, block, rotating assembly (minus balancer), heads and valve train. The engine is located in Fargo. you can email me at [email protected] or call my cell at 701-426-2564 ask for Russ

Worst first car1949 International KB-3 was my first vehicle. massive heavy steel truck, with a 48 HP engine, straight cut trans gears, manual steering and manual brakes. I had it up to about 45 once. didnt go fast but damn that was a cool truck. I sold it to go to college and I've been kicking myself ever since. but it probably wasnt the best vehicle for a young kid to drive. it would total damn near anything with how heavy it was.

Muscle cars VS. ImportsKidSupreme;182733 wrote:
There are only two things I hate about muscle cars and their owners.-
Thinking that a 30-50 year old boat of an automobile is the best car ever made. Believe it or not, but technology does have a habit of improving things. I mean, "tuning" with a screwdriver?
-
If your muscle car is so great then chase me. Around cones, a track, neighborhood streets. Remember that there is more to a car than the engine inside.
-
Tuning with a screwdriver can work quite well. It is just a matter of adjusting your air fuel ratio through mechanical means, rather than electronically.
Technology definitely does improve things, but you have to realize that these cars
are a entirely different breed than the modern day cars. and if new cars are so much better, why is it that some of the designs for suspension components are the same as they were then? -
A muscle car that has been gone through and has new suspension peices can handle better than most would think. My charger handled like a tank when I first got it, and now it is slightly better than that of a cargo van.

I think both types of cars have their flaws, but I think the biggest thing I dislike about import guys is when they piss poorly mount a body kit and don't bother to paint it. That kind of stuff just drives me nuts. This was way more prevelant in Bismarck than it is here, but so were the kids who literally only install a CAI and a fart cannon.
I have seen alot of imports running out at the Tintmaster street legal days, and I've seen some quick imports, hell I've seen a few fast ones too (I always considered fast as being 11 seconds or faster in the 1/4) But I have also seen some that were back in the 17 and 18 second 1/4 times.
HOWEVER on the flip side, I have also seen some 18 second cars in the trophy class at a regular race weekend.
Most people have a fear of change and a fear of admittance. Import guys dont like to admit that a muscle car is more than a antiquated peice of crap, and muscle car guys dont want to admit technology is good.
I guess its just one of those things. Hell most muscle car guys dont care for corvette guys either. so I wouldn't take it so personal.

Tintmasters race rescehduled to the 14th?The track has a regular make up race session August 18th and 19th, and then the next Tintmaster race is on August 25th.
As far as I know there were no rescheduled races with the exception of the 2 rain out makeup dates which were the regular saturday/sunday program, and not the Tintmaster race.

Kids on bicycles (RANT)i know in Bismarck a few years back it was illegal to ride a bike on the sidewalk. I got a ticket for it about 8 years ago. I had no idea you had to ride your bike on the street, with alot of the drivers out there I sure wouldnt want to.

Accident question.thurmanmerman;178366 wrote:
Not unless the accident happens with another vehicle or you hit a person. I totalled a car by hitting a baby deer and wasn't going to file an accident report. Well that all changed when we came back with a trailer to pick up the car. 2 HP were there waiting for me asking what happened. Supposedly there is a charge for killing a deer with a car.You are supposed to report deer/car collisions. and in the state of ND a extra 10 dollars they used to be allowed to let you keep the deer you "pre tenderized" with your vehicle.
-
Accident question.if you wreck your car and have liability only your screwed. you wont get anything for it. it sounds like there wasnt another car involved so your lucky there.
