Been there, hang in there. Moved here from about 150 miles away to take a job, worked there for 6 months and got laid off, he knew i moved here for said job, still didn't care. That was 4 years ago, been laid off twice since. Now i have a shitty low paying job (went from 13 dollars an hour to 9.50) and can't seem to get fired from it for nothing! Not that i want to be, it's a job, just sucks. Keep looking you'll find something.

Wireless printers are cheap now too, btw. Mine was under $200 when I got it a year ago. That way you don't have to worry about setting up a print server, it's one less cable you need to use, and you don't have to worry about manually setting a static IP. That with NAS is probably the easiest route.
