The valve stems were fine when I brought them in, 100%....when I come back to the shop they are sheared in half.....they weren't like that when I brought them in. Process of elimination leads me to believe that whatever happened, happened why they were mounting the tires....the stems didn't fall in half as soon as I dropped them off. The type of stems used on these wheels have a the rubber grommets on both sides of the lip of the wheel, then on the back side they are double nutted. The valve stems were sheared off on the portion of the stem that sat in the backside of the lip. I dunno how it happened, all I know is that it DID happen....and I didn't do it. IMHO a shop should take responsibility for screwing things up....regardless of how big/small it is.
Depends on the screw up. And in the automotive business, the customer isn't always right. But like we said, you should have brought new ones in. Maybe they did break when he mounted them. Maybe the broke because they were overtightened and when they put the tire on it tore it off. I DONT KNOW. What I do know is that both partys are in a grey/fine area of customer relations, and the only neg part you have right now is not bringing new ones not mounted in. PERIOD.
As for the fingers, well, they get tired from other things
