  • Exhaust shop?
    wa2fastcamaroW wa2fastcamaro

well every shop said they didn't want to do my car so I ordered all mandrel bent tubing and going to weld it all together myself. At least I will know its done right then.

  • Exhaust shop?
    wa2fastcamaroW wa2fastcamaro

Anybody recommend a good exhaust shop for custom work? The Fiero needs a custom setup that's not street legal and I would like someone good to do it and not complain about it. I usually use Muffler man in Moorhead, but there work is marginal, and the welding is not the best. Plus the setup I want has a lot of intricate bends.

    So any good recommendations?

I won't go to Exhaust pro's because I have had numerous bad experiences with them, and Mike Burns is expensive and does not like to do custom work.

    Parting out 2 2000 Camaro's.

First is a Z28, Ls1, Auto, 32K, perfect drivetrain, t-tops, loaded, posi, etc... still runs and drives

Second is a Rs, 3.8L, 5 speed, 82K leather, t-tops, all options, etc...

Was going to make one really nice car out of the 2, but just haven't found time and sick of the cars in my way.

I got a bunch of brand new front end parts too and a aftermarket SS hood also.

Let me know what you need. Open to trades for major parts too.

  • reccomended diesel shop?
    wa2fastcamaroW wa2fastcamaro

Got a 94 K2500 6.5 Diesel truck, has issues and I have limited experience with them and have exhausted any ideas I have. Looking to take it to a shop and have it fixed asap.

So where should I bring it?

Its running rough, missing, and smoking from the exhaust. New fuel injection pump 2K miles ago.

Not looking to troubleshoot it, just want to pay someone to fix it.

  • Introducing 3M Di Noc Carbon Fiber Film
    wa2fastcamaroW wa2fastcamaro

    tntmstr;312873 wrote:
I called 3M to ask this exact question, and the gentleman stated 3M does not offer a defined warranty for the product, due to the many factors that need to be taken for the installation. From surface material (wood/metal/plastic), to the cleansing of the product (degreasing), to adhesive primer used or not, to the elements it will be subjected too (AZ sun compared to ND sun, and ND winter compared to AZ winter). He said for a vehicle that sees daily sun/uv, he would suggest ~5 years. For interior applications that do not see daily sun or uv, he said ~12 years.

On applications that we do at the shop, we have the appropriate priming/cleansing/application techniques to ensure the edges stay down, and the material looks as it should for years.

If you would like a small sample to bring with you to install on something to test the durability, stop into the shop. I have a bunch of dash pieces on display to check out the versatility as well.

Another option to extend the life of the material, is to clear it. This has been done on many applications, and takes away the 'dry' carbon look, and creates a typical carbon look. If you got the piece you are looking to cover cleared with a UV inhibitor, I don't see what this wouldn't last forever.

very cool stuff, defiantly has peaked my interest. I like the the look of carbon parts without actually having them carbon. I will be considering this on my future projects.

so how does it hold up to the elements and how easy would it peal? will edges lift very easily by themselves. Whats the life of it being outside in the elements all the time, and in direct sunlight for extended periods of time?

  • 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab 4x4 Diesel
    wa2fastcamaroW wa2fastcamaro

Here's the deal I have 2 trucks and can't afford to keep both, so I have both for sale and will keep whichever does not sell. I absolutely love this truck, its awesome and really more truck than I need, but I love big trucks. Its a 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab 4x4 long box. Its a LS model truck, has the 6.6L Duramax Turbo Diesel and Automatic Transmission. Runs amazing, starts right up, and drives excellent. Since I have owned it, its been well maintained, does not leak anything, dealer serviced for oil changes, and has been updated with the newer mobil 1 oil and a engine flush so the oil is much cleaner. Injectors and glow plugs replaced by previous owner at about 130K. Has 155K on the truck now. Options include, 60/40 split front bench with fold down console, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, AC, Cruise, tilt wheel, alloy wheels, etc... Aftermarket accessories include pioneer cd player with sirrus XM radio and all aftermarket speakers and spray in truck bed liner. Has a aftermarket 4" exhaust complete from the turbo back, sounds really good and noticeable power increase. I had berts truck equipment install a goose neck receiver hitch and electric trailer brake controller. Truck has a rebuilt front end with new ball joints and tie rod ends, and just aligned. All shocks were replace within last 10K. The main rear drive shaft was completely rebuilt by Thrulows welding and machine with new hanger bearing, new u joints, and re balanced. When I say this truck is nice, it is, very clean inside and out, excellent shape. Spent a ton of money making the most reliable truck I have ever owned. I would truck it to drive anywhere and pull anything. Spent about 8 hours this past weekend detailing the body, buffed and polished with many compounds and waxed to look like new.

Up for sale is my 1998 Honda Civic EX Sedan. This is as loaded up as you can get these civics. Power windows, power locks, power mirrors, sunroof, Cold AC, cruise, tilt wheel, power steering, rear wing, etc... Engine is the 1.6L 4 cylinder and a 5 speed manual Trans, only 67,XXX actual miles. This car is barley broke in. Tires are better than 50%, runs perfect, drives like new, clutch feels great, not a single mechanical problem that I can think of. Exterior is a light bluish grey and the interior is light grey. Interior is near mint, no stains or burns in the seats, non smoker owned since new, carpet could use a shampoo but otherwise is extremely nice. Has a JVC aftermarket cd player that works awesome. Exterior of the car is nice, paint is shiny and smooth, has some dings and rock chips but thats to be expected. Front of car has been repainted because of a deer hit last year but all was fixed right.

    $4500, title in hand

  • some people should not be allowed to work on cars
    wa2fastcamaroW wa2fastcamaro

Working on a customer car this morning, she brought it in because the brakes were making a bad grinding noise. said she had new brakes put on by a shop in the twin cities over the weekend but wanted me to check them. They said the grinding noise would go away after they were broke in. I pull a wheel off and go WTF. She paid like $200 for pads and 2 rotors on a 02 sebring. Well she is paying for another rotor because them idiots put the outer pad on backwards on one wheel. metal side to the pad, wtf. You think a competent mechanic would notice the mistake.

My compressor died again this past weekend and after fixing it 4 times in 2 years I'm done, time to buy a different one. Looking for a 50-80 gal 220 volt compressor. 2 stage pump preferred but would consider a single stage if its a good one. Looking for one ASAP as my spare 26 gallon one cant keep up what what I need.
