drifter86 A leak down test is mainly used to check for sealing valves and rings not to check for a leaking head gasket, because a leaking head gasket 95% of the time they dont leak untill there warm and the amount of shop air you put in a cylinder to do a leak down test about 120 psi is no where near the amount of cylinder pressure that in the cylinders when running that cause the head gasket to leak, so a true way to test for a bad head gasket would be to do a block test or put a funnel on the radiator and fill it with coolant and run the engine those two are the best way to test for a bad head gasket

What will be the next BIG THING....??wow you aint got a clue what your talking about anybody can copy and paste how to test for a bad head gasket. unless the motor is totally running like shit and smoking a leak down test isnt goin to tell you shit. and in matts case his engine was running fine. plus it was a used motor from a junk yard, you got no clue how a dealership works if a tech isnt getting paid to look at it he isnt working on it. all they were suppose to do was install the used motor that was sent to them not diagnose underlying conditions.

What will be the next BIG THING....??Corwin Honda on Leak down tests: "fuck em, we don't need em. Its much faster to just not do them."
Do any of you tuner wannabees even know how to do a leak down test. Obviously not since a leak down test is to check for sealing valves and rings. So stop acting like you know what your talking about, and lay off. If it wasnt for corwins matt would be with out a motor hes lucky hes getting what he got. Im sure the warranty company wouldnt mind hearing how the motor was taking out of the car for a year before they submitted a claim. -
