cheap performance

BUT....
5speed or auto?5speed - aftermarket shifter of your choice to cleanly sling through the gears.
Auto - Torque Convertor possibly. Would have to know the specs on the factory unit, but a new TC could probably wake the car up.Gears - good ole standby
-straight pipes/headers. It's a V6...who knows how good that will actually sound.
I'd wait before either of those and find someone who has experience with that motor...find out if either of those would pick up any horsepower. I'd bet the heads/intake don't flow enough to warrant some huge exahust setup (and then you fight with losing the torque numbers)for not-so-cheap performance, look into what's available for Heads (probalby an OEM port/polish job) and a cam. I'd be willing to bet Vortech has a kit for that car...if not (for some cars) they're not too hard to piece together....and go that route.
(I'd reccomend looking into a F-body forum for input honestly...)

the turbo would be very easy and inexpensive for some quick power. 20g (or so) would flow enough for about 350-400hp. with a large turbine you could control the boost more easily, and keep it from spooling constantly. personally... i would just get some headwork, cams, and good intake and exhaust

Please don't do straight pipes. You will actually lose HP/TQ. Do a good exhaust like Flowmaster and an air intake. Put a small hit of nitrous on it and you will be very happy. If it's an auto, do a converter.
I know there was a supercharged 3.8 around here at one point. Was actually pretty cool.

read through all of that....

For some more detailed info, try ls1.com. They have a section for the unfortunate V-6 F-body owners. A guy got 13's N/A out of his, at least on the internet. Here's a site that might help you out: http://www.firebirdv6.com/ . You can be almost as fast as the LS-1's.

- just a wee bit larger then the stock td05...but you know I think it spools just about the same - but I have the boost loop set REALLLY low.
