z-link is when there is one bar form the front that goes to the top of the birdcage, and one bar from the back of the car that goes to the bottom of the birdcage, forming a "z". at least in dirt track racing

For a drag car, instead of having a panhard bar or torsion bar a two-way shock is mounted to the top of the dif to an upper cross member. This worked very well and cheap for a Nsx that was in Texas, I would link some more info on the car but that car owner is under some heat for the shop he is associated with.
