DSM Heat
-
I just wanted to see if this is a problem with all DSMs. My 92 WILL NOT keep any kind of heat if the temp is -0. I drive it at any speed above 30 the arrow drops to C. I turn on the heat, the arrow drops to C. The old engine did it and so does the new one, they just dont hold any heat. I know if i put a piece of cardboard on there it would help but that would just be stupid looking. Does everyones do this? Im starting to get sick of being cold already.

cardboard isn't going to help at all.
my DSM's heat used to be fuckin awesome, i'd turn the car off, come back 30 min later and it'd still be warm... then a month or two ago, it just stopped working well.
here's what i do... drive it normally till it gets up to temp, and them i stomp the gas and boost alot and my heat gets warm
i'm a ricer.anyway, they have heated seat covers at target you should look in to it

Geez guys just try changing the t-stat. they will still function but will sometimes stay stuck open enough not to create enough heat from the engine to heat your heater core. Jim, if it used to heat good and doesn't now, that's probably it. If not, try to back flush your heater core. It's not hard to do. Both my previous DSM's heated excellent even in sub zero conditions.

mine works just fine. takes maybe 5 minutes to get warmed up and then the heat works great. i have a big problem with the windows getting all icy and fogged over while im driving though.Make sure your vents are open I had a big prob with that too. Opening the vents helped alot.

I have no problem heating up in my DSM. Problem I have is the damn dipstick keeps popping out coating my engine in nice oil. Don't worry Weshole I am going to pinch the dipstick tube and do the thing with the oil valve since I am home now back in the great WI until the 7th.

my dipstick popped when my car was stock...and i got pulled over at that same time so the cop let me off cause i told him i thought i just blew my car up and i just got it from the shop lol
oh yeah and i only had a turbo for exhaust and he offered his flashlight under the hood lol -
Thath must have been nice just having a turbo for the exahust. No boost lag whatsoever.
Did you pinch the tube in order to stop it?
