This post is why Daveh is disturbed...as well as me. Like Dave said...."more people trying to come to America than people leaving".So if people have a view that includes reality then we should get the fuck out? Is that what you are saying?
Rose colored glasses, jingoism ftl.
It's people like you guys who scare me.
I won't edit my post but I will add that I think the USA is the greatest 'country'. I will not say the USA has the greatest government.

edit: i am probably going to get tazed for this

What he said isn't that hard to comprehend. Basically if this country is so bad, why is everyone trying to come here?Mexico? Cuba? Africa? China?
If I lived in a third world or extremely oppressed country, I'd want to move somewhere else too. I wonder how many people from those countries are also moving to other wealthy, more free countries.

I personally can't think of any country that has as much opportunity as this one. Like I have said as well as Dave. If it sucked so much and if there was a country so much better, then why isn't everyone going there? The only reason we have issues is because all the people that don't belong here legally are sucking up all of our resources!!

Fallguy posts that he agreed with what I said, which was "more people want into the USA than want out"
John somehow misinterprets this and thinks that Fallguy is saying that people who think like John should gtfo of the country (at least thats what I'm guessing he thought??), and then John goes on with some insults based on his misunderstanding.
But that is cool?

I didn't think I said anything to insult anybody, I think i did misinterpret what he said, I guess if sometakes me saying that people with an opposing viewpoint scare me is a personal insult somebody needs to grow a thicker skin. i think alot of people come here because it is very easy to get in and get benefits. It is my understanding that some other countrys have more stringent requirements to stay in the country and generally dont offer the same benefits to the alien as they do to the citizens. I was born here and I don't get some of the same benefits. Im not arguing that I should be able to get assistance with my income, just that I don't think people that are not citizens of our country should get the same benefits as citizens. I think it is the responsibility of whatever country they come from to provide them with assistance if they have income problems. I realize that its wishful thinking and that isn't the case, but still. Sorry if I offended anyone, I didn't mean any comment directly at any one person.

Fair enough. I felt like you were attacking Fallguy for something he didn't say.

So...to those of you that think our country is so horrible what other coutries have more freedoms then we do...cuz i'm pretty sure there arent really any...Almost every other country in the European Union.
Actually, as far as economic freedom goes, the US is the fourth most free country in the world. I remember reading an article a couple years back in... Forbes maybe? Or was it the Wall-Street Journal? I don't remember. Anyway, it listed the US behind Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia. A Google search came up with the top four in that same order on a number of other sites. As far as freedom in general, I read in middle school somewhere that the US was number 13 in the world, but who knows how accurate that was.
Granted, some of the freedoms the EU countries enjoy (gambling, drug use, prostitution, free education and health care) would probably be taken into excess here and become more of a problem than a freedom.
I don't think there is a GREATEST country in the world - judged by a certain universal set of criteria. To me, the "greatest" label is relative to the person. Every country in the world has its pros and cons, and its up to the person to decide what they want and what they're willing to deal with.
