i'm not saying it's still under warranty but i know that the GM dealer will but a stage 2 on a ion redline and the warranty is still good.

Any of the Mopar stage upgrades do NOT void the warranty of the car.

The catch is when you put a mopar stage on the car, the cars warranty does not cover the stage parts.

any of the mopar stage kits can void your warranty http://www.mopar.com/m_perf_subcat2Check.jsp?SubSubSubGrpID=51662&dummy8=1200844937481 go to bottom of page it says Not legal for sale on pollution-controlled vehicles or vehicles registered for highway use. I have seen coriwn void peoples warrants when I worked there cause the staged vehicles are more likely to get rodded on is there explanation any dealer can void it but some choose not too on the staged vehicles... but I don’t think even corwin ever put a stage 2 kit on it the were probably told it had one and believed it

A dealership cannot void a warranty just because you put a mod on our car, they have to prove that the mod that you put on caused the failure.

            btw your link dosent work

khock3 is right. There is a law about it. Just like all the stuff my dad put on diesel trucks. The dealer has to be able to prove with out a reasonable doubt that the part was directly responsible for the failure of what ever the car is in need of warranty work on. And cause it is driven hard wouldn't hold up if you wanted to take it to court.

the act in question, btw, is called the Magnusson-Moss warranty act.

And basically, it means that the dealer has to make a plausible case that your mod damanaged the car in a specific way that they wont cover under warranty. So chanigng the stereo blowing up the turbo is bogus, but chipping the turbo car blowing the turbo isn't. The dealer will regularly deny warranty claims on chipped cars with drivetrain failures, and they have more money than you if you want to go to court over it.

                        ^pretty much.

Better example. Some dude buys a new z06. He get bored with the car and puts spray and a cam in the car. He blows it up, dealer should not cover that.

My dad gets people that ask about warranties being voided. But I do not think he has ever had a customer have issue with getting warranty work done on there trucks due to having chips and he sells alot of them. Same thing with some of my friends that have diesels with chips and other toys, all have been in for warranty work and no problems. I guess it might be differant on the trucks then on the cars.
