Maybeevry vehicle i drive that has a clutch, i drive that way.
Your vehicles, you drive how you wantyou make no sense. not using the clutch increases your life span of the clutch.
And decreases the life of the transSad, but true. Some people go on their whole life thinking how you do, the others learn from their mistakes or others mistakes.

SLS (psi2hi) has built more DSM's that go fast than ANYONE in the area (9 second car fast enough for you???). Everyone knows that DSM tranny's are the weak point in their setup and placing any unneeded strain on them (clutchless shifting for example) is going to only cause problems.
No bullying, no bullshit, just straight up answers. Sorry if they weren't what you wanted to hear, but they are the truth.

The tech is the slave cyl, master cyl, synchros or trans are more then likely shot and need replacing. Its the DSM game start checking and replacing until its fixed. There it is. Take it or leave it. Preferably leave it, and leave the site as well. Oh and please keep telling kids who want good advice that they can powershift/synchro shift their DSM's. Get em off the road faster...

psi2hi, thank you for giving a better idea of what to look for. thats all i was looking for.[/QUOTE]actually the make sure the pedal was fully depressed was very DSM specific advice because when an aftermarket clutch is installed in a DSM, alot of the time you need a longer clutch slave cylinder rod, and if you dont have one, the car would act exactly like you said your friends car was.... So yea, we were trying to help...

PSI2HI gave you possible causes of the clutch not disengaging, same difference.
Changing to a good fluid is important in these transmissions. GM synchromesh is a decent fluid that is commonly used to help the synchros out a bit.
But, apparently I am just a know it all and wasn't trying to help you out.

I've had more 2G DSM experience than I wish. 2Gs don't have issues w/ the clutch not fully disengaging like the 1Gs did. They all use cables from the shifter to the trans, which is gay and sloppy. Like Nate said, switch to GM syncromesh, or Penzoil syncromesh, which is the same stuff, but cheaper. This should all be done and can all be found on the DSM VFAQ site: B&M short shifter, metal shifter plate bushings, Greddy counterweight shift knob, SS braided clutch fluid line and get rid of the fluid collection unit w/ that, remove the clutch fluid restricter inside of the slave cylinder. Of course if your slave or master cylinder are leaking, replace them. Make sure that there isn't a floor mat or something getting underneath the clutch pedal. When all this is done, it still won't shift that good because its a Mitsubishi transmission. Compared to other cars, their trannies are garbage, this has been proven time and time again. Like I said before, spend the money with Shep or TRE, thats your best bet.
