Lets see your ghetto projects
-
Hjermstad, other than your engine managment, that looks way too clean to be considered ghetto. You could at least show some of the carnage....
-
well i wish i had picture of the my yellow crx si with white 18's on it.... lol badass i know.
other then that the only other thing i had that was ghetto was my ef hatch with itb's. i used radiator hose, pvc pipe, and sheet metal from home depot to make them, they where special. ran great at wot and thats about it.

The 4dr would be very mildly ghetto, although it was done right, it was a budget setup. That is more what Im going for than actually how ghetto.
Also, any boosted honda tuned with an AFC qualifies automatically. So there is another one for ya....
-
haha, i did love that i would hit 100 ish and my car would just turn off. that was interesting

1990 Ford probe GT
SLS FMIC
Custom mig welded IC piping
Greddy type RS BOV
boost controller on 15 psi
Had some sort of Grounding issue. The headlights would go into open loop and open and close continuously unless the car was in gear. Anyone remember how it blinked when I shifted ?
Ran for like 4 hours... then sold it non running and made all my money back.

By ghetto, do you mean ghetto rigged??? lol

I had to throw on my smic when we installed my fmic because we were one pipe short. It just so happened that the smic was a perfect fit and completed the piping. I ONLY LEFT THIS ON FOR THE DRIVE HOME. THIS WAS NOT PERMANENT! I've posted this before and nobody ever reads the description and ppl think I left it that way. lol

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you guys spend on your ghetto/budget turbo setups?
How or where did you source your parts?
This is for anyone who wants to reply.I would still like to do a junkyard turbo on the DX, but only after I get back on my feet. God it sucks not having a job.

idk on my boost coupe i spent about $800-1000 ish on the kit, then darkelvis did a lil street tune on it(aka: pull fuel on a afc, lol).
on 4 door i would say i had $400-500 in that kit, it was 90% made by me out of other peoples junk. and it worked great for what i wanted. ran 14.7 in the 1/4.....

HF mani, adaptor plate, dsm turbo, dsm 450's, dsm smic... probably the cheapest turbo setup, since most of it u can get off a junked dsm...

I win....
Eaton M90 off of a thuderbird.... plumbed pre throttle body with a blow off valve and recirc valve
$150 for the blower, was like $50 to have a V pulley modded to the blower, and a couple dollars for other odds and ends
was a junior or sophmore in HS when i did that, lol
Had a huge thread on rx7club.com for this, 50k+ views
