From what iv heard flood insurance for the most part is useless. It most of the time only deals with if your house up and floats away...aka TOTALLY fucked.

Just got off the phone with my dad. Water still rising, pumps are keeping up in the basement. Has about a foot inside the dike right now. Pumping with two pumps in the basement and three inside the dike. These pumps pump over 1 gallon a second.

Been a while since I have looked at insurance, but thought you needed 30 days before policy went into effect.

That area is 904' above sea level. I am at 905' and I bagged my window wells.

It may be for nothing, but better safe than sorry. 🙂

They are going to try to build the dikes to 44', still expecting the water to be 43' or less.
