im gonna ask him and let you guys now exactly what he said, cause i dont know shit about xbox's or gaming systems. But he does fix em for a living so im goin by what he told me. He mentioned it was some bolts get hot and causes it to overheat or somethin. Ill ask him tomorrow tho. As far as the "n00b" comment goes, yeah ill admit imma "n00b" to game systems but you act like cause i dont come on Fargo Street im new to forums or whatever, and if you do, you sir are an idiot!

Ahh...the use the washers under the x-braces to force more pressure onto the CPU/GPU method. Of course in all the vids online they tell you that if that doesn't work right away you are supposed to unhook your fan and turn your xbox on until it overheats then let it cool for 20 minutes. Tell me how that is EVER a good idea? Now instead of just having some bad solder joints under the CPU/GPU you also have heated and maybe warped your whole mobo and potentially caused even more bad solder joints. The method MIGHT work on occasion, but I'll put my trust in the guy that fixes xbox's for a living and pretty much does all of the independent gaming stores repairs in Minneapolis (aka Jim)

I dont think he has put 2 + 2 together to figure out that Jim also owns <u>this</u> site.
I have sen the very same option of the nuts n bolts trick. Im pretty savy with electronics and have repaired many things over the years and even I had Jim fix my 360. There's a reason hes still in business.

I'm an idiot that fixed 4000+ Xbox 360's. :drunken_smilie: I dont' care if your friend does it for a living, or whatever. I WROTE the tutorials all of these kids follow on Xbox-Scene.
But, believe what you want to believe, your still a n00b. This isn't a section to discuss your so-called fixes for Xbox 360's. Read the TOP OF THE PAGE and tell me what it says. This is why you are a n00b.

Yeah I read the top of the page, and I replied with some info on possibly a quick and easy fix. Like I said I'm no genious with xbox's I was just goin off of what a buddy of mine told me and figured I'd share it (tryin to help) and I get flamed. I mean honestly whats the point of posting a thread sayin he has the 3 rings of death if your the only person thats suppose to chime it about it? Why doesnt he just send you a PM and thats that? If your gonna kick me for tryin to help so be it. I knew you were the Admin, cool. Did I know you were an xbox pro? No. Thats why I replied to see if I could help.

Oh, wait, if I do that your employer will call the police and have me removed? But, I was just trying to help! Honest, didn't know that your store was a local shop or business that was trying to make a living doing this sort of thing! Anyway, honestly, it's not like I'm trying to protect a secret here (hell I posted tutorials on HOW TO DO THIS online).

Its titled under the business section yes, but again this is an information forum correct? If I would have known that Jeff ran a business by fixing peoples xbox's on here I would have never replied to the thread. Like I said this is an information thread, there isnt anywhere on here that states its for Jeff fixing xbox's so its not like im running in here tryin to ruin his business.

See I figured this was somebody askin if there was anyway to fix his 3 rings of death or whatever. If I was aware that you repaired them I wouldnt have posted in here. I dont have a problem gettin shit from people, I drive a honda it happens alot lol. Like I said I didnt know that you do what you do, now that I know I wont post about fixing xbox's again cause I know you can take care of it.
