So being a ricer automatically makes you do stupid shit on the road?
Look at stats that show street racing deaths pre 2001 to post 2001 when the movie first came out. I bet they just sky rocket. not guaranteeing they do, just goes to show ive seen a lot more deahts on the road now, then from what I remember back in the 90s etc. -
I don't care what any of you say, Every one of us is a ricer to a certain extent or have something rice related done to there car, be it a fancy air freshener to an aluminum wing.
And those that say your 100% rice free, even you domestic guys, your simply in denial.
As far as a movie being to blame for more dumbasses being behind the wheel I've gotta disagree, it all falls under the category of taking responsibility for your own actions, all these punks that drive there beat up civics would still drive like fuckin' idiots, without the movie to influence them, the only difference is they wouldn't be driving imports. There retards no matter what there so called influences are, if the movie never existed they'd still be retatrds. -

this has been a huge debate on dsmtuners, you're opening a big can of worms here... before you start declaring that everyone has some amount of "rice" in their car, perhaps you need to offer an objective definition of what "rice" means.
my car for example, point to anything and i can tell you what purpose it serves... from the lack of (model) decals to the shift knob -

my car for example, point to anything and i can tell you what purpose it serves... from the lack of (model) decals to the shift knobFrom what I've seen on various other sites and forums the term "Rice" is used to describe anything that is added to a car that doesn't serve a purpose or improve performance. So just as an example, your shift knob, yes it does serve a purpose, but if it was replaced by an after market one, whether you yourself did or didn't do it, it was uneccesary and the aftermarket knob in no way increased performance it is considered rice. On the other hand everything has a purpose. An aluminum wing on a FWD car does offer some amount of stability at speed and graphics, if done tastefully, can give a car/truck a unique and stylish look, so they both have a purpose, so are they considered rice then. I think it's all a factor of someones personal preference although some can go overboard on the preferences.
Constructive criticism is one thing and just being rude is another. Not pointing fingers
I'm not trying to start a big argument over this debate because it's never ending like import vs. domestic, which I also won't go into. I'm just trying to explain things from my point of view. Also, sorry to hijack, you've got you thread back.

There retards no matter what there so called influences are, if the movie never existed they'd still be retatrds.Shit happened before the movie, it was more with domestics, now with the movies out, people switched and it got a lot more attention because of the flashier, more recognizable cars. People will always and have always driven like idiots, but more of those people are young and cannot afford muscle cars, so they go to imports and personalize them, cheaply, which is why they do it, it's easier to get into a cheaper import than a more expensive muscle car. Also movies affect the way people drive. Anyone remember leaving the parking lot after the last 2 movies? SOme people give everyone a bad name.
P.S. Show rice in mine. Same with 5.0stang, camzaro, Turb0h5.0, just to name a few. If you reply to the p.s. it should be a new thread.

That's like me saying"so I'm a muscle-head steroid freak because I drive a classic domestic" The second movie contributed to that, along with most other classic muscle movies. You said yourself when you met me, you thought I'd be way different. Don't get so offended and making such a generalization. Hell most people don't even think a domestic would help an import in need. Chill, is what I'm saying here.

Also, you can find cheap ass muscle cars just as easy as you can find imports. The fact is most people like the trendier look of the imports compared to the domestics. But then again it is personal preference.

personal preference, agreed, cheap muscle, questionable. My expierience is if it's cheap it takes more money to get decent enough to put on the road. There ARE a few gems to be found tho.

I chose an import based on technology, quality, reliability, awd, and looks...something that I don't feel the domestic market can offer in my experience. And before you get too worked up about me not knowing anything about muscle cars, I have been a muscle car guy most of my life. I currently own/co-own several muscle cars with my father (69 GTO Judge; 71 Charger w/ an alcohol burning 383 w/ triple deuces, and dana 44 rear end, to name a couple.) I have had many a motor built for older cars that I have owned in the past, including a number of 305's, 327's 350's and even a 383 stroker.
So I know a bit about both sides of the coin and can tell you without a doubt that it is cheaper to get sheer HP out of a 350 than it is a 2.0 liter. However, on a hp/liter debate, it is definately in the favor of the imports.

Cost of a 1971 charger and a judge? Cost of a civic or prelude? Entry level for young guys, I've never questioned your knowledge of muscle cars, and won't unless you give me reason to. I also did not mention competitiveness. To be competitive in my opinion it is cheaper to go muscle. Preaching to the choir on that. Need I point out the ill-equiped ford 500 for the bad all-wheel drive, hopefully it will improve.

I am not in denial. There is no rice on my car.
