The projectors have to be designed for HID's, they can't be Projectors designed for halogen bulbs...

I have never understood the draw to HIDs. People on the mazda6club.com boards are all over them but I don't get it. $400 bucks for some lights? HIDs are one thing I'd rather have factory equipped than shoe horned on.

          Excellent post!

You could find a set of Evo8 housing.

I've thought about putting HID's on my R6, which already has projector beam headlights. The bulbs themselves aren't too high price (~$100/pr), but the ballasts are super-expensive. I found do-it-yourself ballast plans on the 'net...anyone tried this before? The only thing I'm worried about is getting the voltage right; I'd hate to burn out a bulb prematurely at $50 apiece.

You can get bulbs + ballasts from a reputable dealer for $250 shipped. If you'd like details let me know...

People with 2Gb's have purchased the single projector headlights on ebay, taken BMW oem projectors, and then just swapped out the projector...

Check DSMTuners there are a bunch of people who've done it
