AMD x2 vs Intel

both my computers run Intel Core 2 Duos and I love them. Little more spendy than the AMD but overall they are great. Check into Cnet.com for reviews on specific computers and parts if you really want great info.

Well right now I'm stuck between 4 set ups, all within $200 of each other. I'm not a gamer, but I like to do multiple tasks at once, so which is better for the price?
Athlon duo x2 4000+=$1069
Athlon duo x2 5000+= $1169
Intel core 2 duo 6300= $1159
Intel core 2 duo 6400= $1209 -
I'm going with the 6400, thanks guys.

Just a little heads up, the processor isn't going to make that huge of a difference in multi-tasking unless your doing some processor intensive stuff (in which case, that program with generally just run the task faster, not let you multi-task faster).
Invest in the most amount of ram you can afford, especially with vista.

This is the system I built to fit my needs for $1219.
