well in a round about way it does....it takes less force to spin a DBB cartridge than it does to spin a ceramic journal bearing cartridge...which means the turbo wheel will reach higher speeds faster...which means the compressor will flow more air faster = boost faster.

Yes, i know this. DBB makes the turbo more efficient, also get more devoted lubrication and coolin. and then what nate said.

I would be hard, but if you have 2 identical turbos one with journal bearing and the other with the DBB, 95% of the time the DBB will spool faster then JB turbo,

      WITH ALL THINGS BEING EQUAL

          thats interesting, thanks

for comparison here is what your typical 13b rew will do

here is a graph of a typical single setup.... gt 3582r---1.06a/r

          13-15 psi, 320-340lb-ft, 400rwhp, full boost 4k

you need alot bigger turbo for the same power.......

Not everyone wants an enourmous turbo that needs anti-lag to spool and a million hp...some want something that'll work good for auto-x

180hp is just fine for auto-x. driver skill and supension are WAY more important then power.

                            god....

if i put a turbo as amall as fabers on my car it would act like an NA car....... there would be boost all the time, way more than fabers car even

all i am saying is that a rx7 with even just the stock turbo system has waaay more potential than a NA one in anything.... and that he should look into that as it is cheap and very effective

I never said a word about a large frame turbo did i??

I dont care what anybody says.... my car even with a very large turbo is going to beat an NA 7 even in auto-x, not doubt, if the rest of the cars are set up the same, same driver skill

OH and bubba, so you know i pulled a 1.5 60ft without antilag, and i can spool a 42 like a 2jz... hmm

I'll be autoxing for sure. My current setup is

                                      90 Civic DX hatch
                                      d16a6 w/ MPFI conversion
                                      ebay header and exhaust 2.25"
                                      generic filter, no intake pipe
busted ass suspension w/ ebay coilovers
                                      stock brakes

                                      Hopefully by spring:
cam for D16a6 or mini me (mad vtak yo)
fuel management (v/afc or uberdata w/ ostrich)
                                      same exhaust
                                      ebay cold air intake
better suspension maybe KYB GR2 or AGX w/ proper lowering springs instead of sleeves
upper and lower stiffening bars, cpillar bar
matching steel wheels( ive got 4 different ones on there now), better tires
gotta do some research but the brakes will be upgraded too

This car will be useless in the 1/4 (I know, enjoy my 15s right?) so I'm gonna try my hand at turning 🙂
