Look it comes down to, even people with virtually unlimited money to spend CANT get thiers legalized. If you have enough money to spend 80-100k on a legalized skyline, you may as well buy a real exotic.

Nope they come with pimp shit momo interior.... and I mean pimp. If he wants leather tell him to get an Audi or something. I hate my leather interior... I want racing seats and to have my rears recovered in the same fabric as the racing seats.

If he wants to buy a skyline that did NOT come from Motorex, he will NOT be able to get a VIN and title from the DMV without Motorex legalizing it. Period, end of story.

Legalized Skylines are anywhere from $45k - $100K. The more common one is the R33 (easier to legalize). My friend has 3 of them for sale, all legalized and legit. They're all located in Seattle, at his house.

                              http://www.vipimports.com/currentinventory.php

Everything else you read in this thread is somewhere between partially true and completely wrong.

                              Best of luck

I wish... I've frustrated the heck out of myself for 2 years trying to find the loophole that everyone else is looking for. Motorex is basically out of business, they own the intellectual rights to converting a car (DOT and EPA) and its not possible to "reverse engineer" one to find out all the pieces that need to change. Plus, you'll need to figure out all the connections and paperwork the fed gov't requires. It sucks, I wish it was easier for everyone else, but its not.

A couple times a month there's someone on the various skyline boards claiming to have the "in" and the backdoor, but no one has come through.

Sean Morris (tyndago on the boards) use to work at Motorex, and is the most outspoken person on the topic. From what I've gathered he's been trying for 2 years to get RBMotoring up on their own legs, but they're still not there. In the meantime VIPImports has 3 of them, starting at the mid-$40's I believe.

Some talk about getting it under a "show car" permit which has virtually no miles a year you can drive it. But if you get caught, you're screwed. If I were going to break the law to make it happen, I would just buy a totalled Nissan of some kind and start swapping VIN numbers...

At the end of the day, about all a person can legally do is go out and buy one.

                                  It really sucks

Haha, this is why I called you the expert.

Getcher green hat, we are goin fishin.
