I put V-bands on the muffs so yes, will be testing with and without.

Thanks, I appreciate that a lot. I am still figuring aluminum out,as is Bill.
Its easier but weirder than chromemoly. We are getting better with aluminum every weld.
I am building a positioner/rotator so the welds on the next sets will be much nicer.

Call me cooky but with the muffs aimed like that and the distance from your rear end, arent you worried about boiling your brake fluid hence hampering your braking from a fastasfuk 1/4 run? Or any other time for that matter. Not to mention the wiring you have running on the pass side. It's really hard to judge distance from the pics but, it would be interesting to see how hot it would get there after a good blast down the track. Just thinkin safety bro.

Axle is hanging, when on the ground the axle is 4" higher. Maybe baby turndowns but Bill wants to wait to see how much of a turndown it needs. Good eye though.

Its freaky how fast they dissipate heat. I put over 180 amps to it for over a minute when welding the hanger on and with a little air flowing over it, I picked it up after 2-3 minutes and it was room temp.

A little better perspective. Just move the axle up 4" and it would be close to ride height.
