Grand Forks Part II

Well finished filling sandbags this morning. Got a lot done, good volunteer turn out. ran out of sand around 6 or so. due to the weather being bad, but got some more in around 8. There was a dike that broke around 6 am as well somewhere in fargo, but they sent out a team to go fix it......

Good vid...Went there last yesterday about 600 and there was no room so we went to the new trollwood by my house and they were done already, my wife and i were very impressed with the no bullshit attitude going on, crazy what a mass amount of people can do!

yea dont know whats really left in Fargo to volunteer with.. sounds like we're almost there.

My mustang = goner more than likely
Went out to a coworkers place yesterday to help raise his dike up another 2 or 3 feet, he didn't expect he'd need it. Today he called and said water is up on the dike and is at least a foot higher than levels in 97. He lives on the wild rice south of Fargo about 5 miles.

Yesterday (tree in middle here is tree on right in above picture)
It was up another half foot or so horizontally from the time I took that last picture to the time we left.

Nemzek is now asking for volunteers 24 hours a day!

I bagged for 4 hours this morning up at Oakport and there is alot of standing water causing issues up there as it is already.

i will be working at check in at Nemzek 4am - 8am...they are asking for volunteers to come in overnight tonite as well!
If you are a college student PLEASE make sure you are taking the shuttles to and from your college as the extra cars are making it difficult for city and emergency vehicles to do their work!

Sounds like ill be shuttling from 8-? After that ill go pull a graveyard shift somewhere in nemzek

just a note...anyone other than people in comas have no reason not to be putting out some sort of effort! Shuttle drivers are needed, sandbaggers, people at volunteer sign up stations...heck if you have to work, drop off a bag of snacks or pack of pop at a volunteer site or Fargodome or Nemzek. Everyone can at least support all the volunteers!
