360 has no video, but sound.

i'll have to try my hd out on my friends xbox then, i did the whole 18004myxbox thing and they are sending a box. i have read on the interwebz that it has something to do with the video card over heating, but i dont think mine has over heated, it is always in the open, never in tight quarters or anthing.

alright, yeah i thought it might be a solder problem. my box for it will be here in a few days so i can send it in, do they give me a new one or what? and does that fix that problem for good?

Just make sure if you end up sending it in to Microsoft, DO NOT include the harddrive...you wont get it back

They will only take it back if it is within 1 year of purchase (for no video, but audio), and they will send you a a refurb box back.

the xbox is only like 2 months old, but thats dumb that they give you a refurb back, and not fix the one you bought.

What is the manufacturing date on your 360 (its on the back near the serial code)...
You may have a falcon board still, and they will send you a Jasper board back which would be very good....

Yup, that'd be a falcon... and prob the reason it failed.
Falcon boards are older (middle revision), and the GPU still uses a large die size.
Jasper boards use a smaller die size and run a shit load cooler...
Jasper boards come with a manfu. date of December and on 08...
