finally more turbo for the diesel
-
Picked this up

It is a Borg Warner S364, billet titanium compressor, 14cm/.8ar hotside..... setup for the cummins
It is identical to the BD super B special except theirs doesn't have the Ti compressor
supposed to support 550whp on diesel alone, and is made to be easily integrated into a compound twin setup later if desired since it has the huge gates needed for that
Hopefully i wont be able to bury my 1600* EGT guage within a few seconds now... and be able to turn up the fuel plate more and utilize my big injectors

Yawn...
Ditch that for a s357 over a s475...unless that is you are planning on using this as a top turbo someday..:)

Yawn...
Unless you are planning on butting this over a s480 or something someday

yeah i would water/meth for high egts.....but this will work easily...you should make a thread for the dieselMNMKIV;298580 wrote:
ever consider a water meth injection to help with the egt's a bit?The turbo alone should give the relief i need on the EGT's
Not getting carried away on this thing, I just want make around that 500whp mark and be able to use most of that power when pulling while keeping EGT's manageable..
may need twins to do that successfully, but this will give an idea of if that is required

also what PSI you looking to run with this and what was your pevious PSI with the HX35 previously mentionedhad a 35psi gauge forever and just knew that it burried that... finally got my 60psi gauge on and it runs right at 42psi...... stock truck that vintage is at ~18psi stock
The stock HX35 is not doing anything good there but being a blow torch and sending drive pressure through the roof.... the new turbo is gated at 40psi..... 45-50psi should clean what fuel i have available currently
stock HX35s do fairly well up to about 32psi and it is down hill steeply above that

yeah, this turbo over a 400 variant
If this cools what i want then no need to though
This isn't some drag racing toy.... I DD it and pull often, and like to have a beast when i am pulling

What i really need to happen is for the stock HG to let go so that i have motive to pull the head and have that rebuilt, ported, and o-ringed with some studs
If i need more fuel the next thing i would do is delivery valves....... not going to some recockulous big injectors because i like my mileage and clean burn
i do around that 20mpg mark on I-state at 80 and a bit better at a slower speed
bumping my timing, the injectors, and taller tires helped in the mileage department

i nice set of tow twins would be a s357/s475

Auto truck so once i get it spooled once i am good to go regardless
Manual trucks would blow balls trying to pull with a single this size......... every shift re-spooling without the converter to help you

yeah mu buddy had that same turbo you just got on his vp44 truck which is a 5spd and with stock injectors, monster stage 1 pump, he could barely spool that thing, then we built his twins and he got 150's and it moves pretty good.

good luck with it....i almost hope it doesn't do what you want cuz i want to see a twin build....lol
How big is the Diesel truck scene around here i saw a Harlel Davidson eddition F-250 in diesel power a few months ago and i've seen a few nice trucks driving around (not to mention all the trucks at M-state when diesel tech classes are going on) but it doesn't seem to big -
