I had roommate problems, but not like yours. mine just said he'd come pay the rent or utility, then not bother to show up for 3-4 weeks until i learned how to get him going. i'd start calling him at 4am and call every half hour until 2am the next morning. then he'd slide a check under the door. haha.
Unless you have a sublease figured out with him, then according to the law he was never living there. as long as you dont try to get any money from him for back utilities or rent then maybe you could just deny he ever lived there if he takes you to small claims?

That sucks dude, had my share of shitty roomates/tenants as well. There is no good way out. By the way I don't think the cops know what they are talking about on the small claims court deal. He didn't suffer any financial hardship other than what he was putting on himself by you kicking him out. 30 day written notices I believe are also for people with actual leases or other legal contracts for tenament. Pretty sure the "hey I need a place to crash for awhile" people are left out on that one. Also a verbal contract/invitation of any kind is hearsay.

I can't believe this shit. Just like him to talk shit when He thinks I can't reply.
I used to think he was my friend but now I know the truth. As far as rent, none was ever discussed, period. Besides the point, I was the only one who bought groceries the 2-2 1/2 months I was there that he no problem eating. I had a feeeling about the water, air and cable but was just dealing with it, no big deal to me. The paint was a little overspray, even after I layed down cardboard, which I told the landlord I would kindly take the effort to clean up. And who doesn't sit around in there underwear when there at home, or at least when they feel they have a home. If he had a problem all he had to do was be civil and "talk" to me like a human. So what if I lived at home most of my life, I worked in new rockford and carrington and my parents had no problem with it and I payed my own bills, whoopy freakin doo, At least I don't live my life lying and bullshitting others to myself out to be something I'm not and to get them to feel sorry for me. At least I worked more than Mr. 4 hours a day here. If you knew this guy like I knew him you'd know he's bullshitted his way through most of life trying to make himself out to be the victim or lying to make himself the goodguy, the only reason he almost got arrested was because the cops told him to be quiet and he kept running his mouth. I had my dad come down because he has a truck, so I could move stuff out, and we tried to talk to him but all he did was fly off the handle, we wanted to do this in civilized manner but he wasn't having it that way. He waited til we where gone, real man huh, then proceeded to move everything out, hell, when my dad first showed up he ran and hid in his room like a little bitch. All this boils down to an incident that happened a few days earlier. He was dumb enough to be driving under suspension which I among others though he wasn't, more BS, and got pulled over. He asked me to switch seats with him I kindly did seen as how I didn't know his license was suspended, and the cops saw us do it. He asked me to lie for him and say I was driving the whole time, so when the cops questioned me I was told that they saw us switch seats and if I lie I'll get arrested for falsifying information, just what I need is a criminal record, I don't hink so, so I told the officer exactly what happened, when your dad was a deputy sheriff for 24+ years it does install some sort of respect for the law, so anyways, he was arrested and then called his boss who is also his landlord to come bail him out which in turn he lied to and said It was my fault he got pulled over in the first place because I was hanging out the window, even more BS, and to top it all off he was pissed because I didn't bail him out. Why the hell should I?! All in all everything happened because he was acting like a bitch and not taking responsibility for his own actions.
And how childish can you get when you bring up somebodies weight the way you did, yeah I'm a fat bastard and I know it. What is this elementary school?

With all been said and done I feel I'll be a lot better off this way anyway, no one to answer to, "where you going?","what are you doing?", "you going to bed already?", all the time.

he cant make fun of me for being ugly.... now if you would have said short, then you would have made a valid point. just to touch on a remark he made about me only working four hours a day, i make more in that four hours then he makes in a week. i am on salery plus comission for installing auto glass.... i get my work done for the whole day in those fours can i help it if understand my job and can do a quality job fast. now that i have made that remark i know what your thinking. the whole thing about being kicked out because of getting pulled over is bullshit and he knows it.... if i was kicking him out because of that i would say so(i dont like him because he is lazy disrespectfull and has no ambition) but refusing to clean the drive is the reason he is not living with me anymore. there isnt anymore to it. the rest of how he was just made it easier to get rid of him and not bother me.

i guess it comes down to this never let someone move in with you that you want to keep as a friend. this guy never knew be except for a visit every other weekend and now he thinks he has known me his whole life...thats not possable he never would have been my roomate if i had known him better. my other friends quit coming around because he stank.... so avoid the smell and live alone unless its a woman, then maybe just maybe a little stink might be worth it.

I saw this exact same thing on COPS the other day and there is in fact laws protecting an invited tennant, regardless of if they pay rent or not. The law says there must be a period of time given before eviction. -
