do it. make it to a super muscle car. do the body to mostly stock. but a good paint job. then add all the comforts off building the car in 2006. like AC and FI. it well still be worth $$$ if it is done right. but not as much as a numbers matching car.

numbers matching concours restorations suck. Make the car your own and DRIVE IT! Who cares if you break it, just fix it and move on.

well, I dont know too much about DSM cars, because I dont like them much. But I happen to know a fair amount about old Camaros. My dad and I have been working on his '69 SS Pace Car Edition for about 5 years now, and it take ALOT of time and money to get it done right. It was his very first car and it hasn't changed it bit...all numbers matching. Before the project was started, he was offered $25,000 for the car as it sat, unrestored. Now that its 95% restored, its worth well over $60,000. I would say lean towards the Camaro, but be prepared to spend some money if you want it done right!

I should add that he actually drives his car....DAILY!

There we go with the value thing again. Fuck value! Build what you will and do it right. All else will surely follow.

^no project is ever done, so yea.

that is why it is a project you do what you can, with the hopes that someday you well finish

Well... I have always been into the older cars especially the 67-69 Camaro's. My dad found a 67 project car in the paper today for under 4 grand.

on the other hand, I was planning on buying a eclipse or something next spring/summer.

Just not sure what I want to do. The camaro will ALWAYS keep going up in value where the eclipse will not.

Any input on what you guys would do?

And yes, i would probably build it for the track, but maybe would just do a show car.

                      INPUT?!?!

Get the Camaro. You really can't go wrong with that car. Build it the way you want but please do it properly (nothing ghetto) and the car will hold its value just fine. Could you have done things to make it worth more in the long run, yeah probably, but that might not be how you wanted YOUR car to be.

The difference between old show cars and new show cars is that old show cars tend to be as OEM as possible and new ones tend to be as aftermarket as possible.....I say find a CF hood, trunk, doors and fenders for that thing 😄 and paint them to match (no you won't find any online, talk to phoenix industries in crookston, they can make any CF part you need....but the first one will cost you a bit). That way you get the best of all worlds, new age composite body parts on a classic muscle car that still LOOKS factory but has advantages of new technology. Also upgrade suspension and brakes while you're at it. Thats how I would do it, but like I said earlier, you should do it how YOU want it done.

                        ^HMMM.

I would rock a 67 camaro CF everything, unpainted. totally differant. IMO
