Couple quick Q's

Wondered if anyone knows of some places I can buy a single or twin-turbo kit for a 1998 Dodge Avenger, and I also wanted to know if anyone knows of a place where I can get a manual transmission for a V6 Above mentioned vehicle. No, I haven't bought the car, but I may be going to go look at it this weekend. Just wondering. Let me know if you guys can find anything...

As far as a turbo set up for a V6 Avenger, it' gonna have to be a custom job. As far as I know, noone makes a system for it. I would also be a little leary of boosting the 2.5L engine in there. They dont like their headgaskets as it is. I would hate to see what a little boost would do.
As far as a tranny goes, I'm assuming its an automatic. Try www.car-part.com. You should be able to find something in the $400.00-$600.00 range.

If you are going for performance, i would not go to an avenger. Now i don't know a lot about them, but everyone i have seen just has rims and a tip, and maybe a kit but is just slow. PPl must like them tho cuz i see a lot of them riced out. I wouldn't put money or any signifigant time into one even tho they aren't too bad looking i guess, but do what makes you happy.

Yea, as of right now, it's all speculation. I am going to go test drive a bonneville SSEI today after school. That one is at least supercharged...lol The avenger is an automatic transmission with a V6 and it just sounds like a slow car to me. Yea it looks cool, but I think the bonneville would be alot more fun...

Werd, Not really lookin to be a "Wangsta" to tell you the truth. I think what I am gonna have to do is bite the bullet and just buy something to drive for a couple of years until I am out of college...I guess if I wait long enough, something will show up...

the new SSEI's are nice as fuck ...but yeah its a 96+ buy it....get different pullys and it'll be quick as hell for a big car.

Trannies are the weak link of the ssei from my experiences.....pretty shitty but that was in a 93

My buddy up in aberdeen has a avenger and damn for an avenger wow
17 inch wheels
carbon fiber hood
lowered 5 speed
can (exhaust)
looks fuckin niceperformance he has heads and car intake i believe and some other shit not sure tho its nice and well its actually pretty quick too

yeah its pretty rice, it think you can get a 5spd sebring tranny, same motors i beleive but dont quote me. i know they had 5spd trannies for sebrings tho for a fact. and both cars are 2.5L...and something most people dont know about sebrings and avengers is that in 1st they will shift to 2nd by them selves redline..

I went to test drive it yesterday night and it's pretty nice. 6K for a car with 54K miles. Not to bad, in my book, that is still getting broke in. They said that the car was serviced every 2500 miles whether it needed it or not, and I slammed it down a few times, and it goes pretty quick. I am going to go try and test drive the bonneville today and I will let you all know what I think. I really want the bonneville, but in all practicality, it might have to be the avenger. I'm not made of money...although I wish I was...lol
