The automatic transmissions in Accords (especially the 94-97s and 98-02s) have been a week spot in both the I4s and V6s so stay far away from them. The 5 speeds are very strong though.
Good to know, thanks.

Have you looked at craigslist?
Yeah. I kind of have an idea of where prices should be. I'm mainly asking if there's any known issues with those model cars in that year range (tips for what I should look at if I'm inspecting a car), and if anyone has any suggestions on other cars I could look at too, since I'm unfamiliar with this market. Or if one car is better than the alternatives, and why.

Yet you turn to fargostreet for advice on your next car :nonono:
I'm looking for a sub-$2000 import beater. I thought of this place immediately.
I'm serious, I want advice. Or see you stick your genitals in a VHS player and hit play. Hawt.
(awaits serious business posts due to a lack of humor in fargo)
Eh, just a couple grand would be the limit. Any more than that and I'd rather just keep driving the Jeep. So, the cheaper the better.
Again, I'm kind of a sucker for the Subarus lately. I'm afraid to go look at them because I could see myself dropping a bit more on one of those.
Are Sentras cheap as sh!t for a reason?
Alright, I am looking for a 4 door sedan, something somewhat cheap, just using the thing as a commuter. I know nothing about this market. Here is kind of what I have been looking at:
Subaru Impreza, Legacy/Outback
Honda Accord
Toyota Camry
Nissan Sentra
etc
All of these would be mid to late 90s vintage. Any other suggestions? I do not want a wagon (unless it's a decent Subaru). And any suggestions on what I should look at while inspecting these cars?
I know a Jetta would be another option, but I've already had those in the past and want something different.
The car cannot be a two door, I'll be hauling my Malamute around once in a while. Getting him in a coupe = fail.
Thanks!

What is TCO?
It's a forum that a bunch of people that got banned from TCS started. Imagine if there were 4-5 people like CCr and they started a forum.
I haven't checked this forum out for like over half a year, last thing I remember about it is that there were a bunch of threads about cars being broken into, now I happen to check and still see break in threads.
Fargo must have more crime than North Minneapolis.
Back when I first started driving, I'd pick up a beater from the next door neighbor who would sometimes have "junk" cars on hand. Usually they didn't have titles, so I would apply for a lost title in the spring through the DMV, takes a few months for the paperwork, and by fall I'd have it titled and ready to go for the winter. Been a number of years since I did that so I don't remember specific details, but I got all the info I needed from the DMV on how to do it, so you should be able to do the same.
I saw Nick's pictures on TCS just now. Looks pretty crazy, figured I'd pop over here to see how widespread it was.
Don't forget to check roof damage on the house!
OMG you guys, have you noticed....the weather is changing?? It's not supposed to do that, is it? We have to do something!!! The sky is falling!!!!
Check out this Ebay auction:

yes, ....arrow dinamiks.
I have a question. Maybe MisterCMK can answer it, but others probably can too.
Is Torbs the Fargostreet equivalent of lilstang50 on tcs?

Send me some cash to do it.
Were you the one planning on buying my brother's Cobra intake? Sounds like he's going to reuse it.
Someone on TCS is selling an Explorer intake for $250. That'd be a good start for ya.
I think CMK is still running the factory intake manifold on his car, which is like making that motor suck air through a tiny straw. Upgrade the valvetrain and get that thing breathing a little, and you'll go a little deeper than 5500 rpm.
When I removed mine, a razor blade worked for everything besides the rear window (defrost). I was not sure what to do there, so I went to the local auto paint & supply store and they gave me this stuff to use. It smelled horrible, and they stressed to me not to get any on my skin. But it got the tint off in a matter of minutes. I can't remember for the life of me what it was called though.
baseball bat ftw
That's one thing I did miss being out of the metro. Good chinese food places. Except for some reason, I did find a good place in St. Cloud. Otherwise Minnesota has jack shit that I'm aware of.
