Boost time
New turbonetics TC78
1.15 divided, new f1 turbine, 78mm comp inducer/ 108mm exducer
will support more than i could ever use, yet in a small and light package
I wont be able to tear into this until after harvest, but then it is happening

and an engine bay anticipating new company....

Why did you choose a divided housing??
-
my guess is so he can run both banks into seperate sections of the turbine.

very nice

prolly no big deal because this thing should spool very fast regardless, but might as well if i can
most guys get full boost by 3000rpm on this type of combo..... so it will be a retarded powerband

not anymore, the new TC series is the best performing, best spooling turbo for the price on the market by leaps and bounds. This is basically a mini Y2K, uses the F1 turbine wheel which is and has been the best wheel on the market for a long time. Then it uses the standard (cheap) 76 or 78mm wheel in a t04 sized housing. Like zac said, full boost by 3-3400 and capable of 850whp, cant go wrong especially with the ease of packaging

Why did you decide on Turbonetics? I've always heard/seen those as overpriced, underperforming turbos.yeah I dunno, I am not really familiar with turbonetics either.... I just did alot of research before buying and the TC's are the rave over in the LSX world.
I guess we will see
but to get a turbo like this with whatever turbine you want, whatever turbine housing you want, anodized compressor backing plate, and polished compressor housing all for $995 seems like a bargin to me

damn zac, this car is going to be fuckin sick!

you better be working on yours!

do you have a manifold(s) made for it yet? VERY NICE!using the c6 corvette manifolds forward and down like they already are in the pics. All i need is to do is fab is a SS hotside from the manifolds to the turbo, and DP.... so not much

im more or less working on mine. if ordering parts and stuff counts as working on it. i cant really do much when i dont have an actual shell to work on, but that should change once i go home for harvest, there is one im going to look at and if its not a rust bucket i'll more that likely buy it and start ording more stuff from granny's
i cant wait to see what this car runs at the track, BA!

haha, ordering a bunch of stuff and having a nice big pile of parts is half the fun
hold out and get a good shell, it will be worth it
excited about mine, heck i am excited to see what you will do.... I really want to see someone do a bigger all motor lsx setup on one of these cars...
just knowing how this 6.0 acts, being only NA with only mild NA parts makes me curious to see what a a stroked HC ls2/ls3 variant with a really big cam/heads/intake would do in NA form on these cars...500-550rwhp would easy enough too achieve
it would be sick... get to it
