The bug is a 2006 model.
Relocating the battery seems like the best method of wiring this system because the current battery barely fits under the hood, so the wires are hard to reach. I have a 0 gauge wire that isn't being used for anything, so I might as well just install two batteries back there, and wire them in parallel. Less fuss, less mess, more cranking amperage.
